MTV2 looking for Need for Speed fanatics
MTV2 is looking for the hardcore, competitive gamers for its new show, "Are You Game." On the show, you and a buddy
will go head-to-head at Need For Speed for televised bragging rights, as well as a "chance to live the game for real in
a challenge that's off the chain" (who says 'off the chain'? Am I too old, at 19, to understand MTV
lingo?). They are looking for such duos as Father vs Son, Boyfriend vs Girlfriend, Sorority Sister vs Sorority
Sister, and good ole' buddies looking to be on television. So if you want to be that guy/girl who was on MTV2
playing video games, go sign up right now.

What if I have some Burnout3 grudges? Can I do that in a real-life situation on television?
In all seriousness, this sounds like a good concept, but MTV isn't the best with games/the gaming community.

Maybe I like to wear my tinfold hat today. I wonder how much money Electronica Arts gives to Viacom for advertising expenses. I admit I have a a guilty pleasure for watching MTV. Come on, Pimp My Ride is an entertaining show. EA likes to spend money on Viacom television networks such as SpikeTV and especially MTV.
Pimp My Ride occasionally gives away free EA games to the person that is getting "pimped" if he/she has a Xbox/PS2/PSP/GC installed on their car.
MTV has already made two television specials about Madden NFL football games. (informericals) http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/4683/MTV-to-Host-The-Making-of-Madden/
The other special is about how people are addicted to Madden NFL games.
MTV Video Music Awards introduces a new category that doesn't relate anyting to music video: "Best Soundtrack From a Video Game" which two out of five nominees are EA games which are most for a video game publisher ("Def Jam: Fight for NY" and "Madden NFL 2005)
MTV News reports on a non-music related story about Madden NFL 2006's new features. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1505033/20050630/index.jhtml?headlines=true
Oh well, I don't think anything is wrong with EA/MTV/Viacom is doing. It just plain marketing. EA thinks its target audience is MTV viewing crowd. Oh well...

I like how MTV is able to create a show about video games that I'd rather watch than any show on the G4 network.
That's not a compliment to MTV, that's just a straight up insult to G4, which has no idea what their demographic is. The only show I like on G4 is a TechTV holdover that probably was only there by popular demand- Attack Of The Show, formerly the Screen Savers. G4 flat out sucks.

You know, I would be ALL about doing this, except that I would be deathly afraid of showing my evil side as the 9 year old next to me totally dominates me and attempts to do some "auto-teabag" on me on national television.

"Off the chain" is part of the Top 40 lexicon.
BTW Attack Of The Show is nothing compared to The Screen Savers. They got rid of their good talent namely Leo Laporte. He is the man!

Yeah MTV2 is turning into MTV at a very rapid pace. I'm pretty sure they started it to just be videos but it's becoming show after show after show.

I never watched any of the old Tech TV shows, as I didn't have cable, but I like their podcast.

19? I think you are too young. That was going on around the mid 90s. Oh god that is depressing...
