There is no question that this image is a CG render. It's not a photo - so whatever it is, if it is indeed real, this is a render of that design, and not a photo of a physical object. As we die-hard Nintendo fans continue to speculate as to the functionality of the Revolution, it's easy to believe in images or statements from people who are 'close to Nintendo.' And as much as I'd like to believe in some of these concept designs, the truth is we're probably not going to know too much until Nintendo decides to unveil something. So as for this image, I think it's just another render that really doesn't have any meaning. But let's keep speculating! It's fun!

This is not a fake.

I've seen this device before, and I can assure you that it's genuine. Is it a controller? Is it related to gyroscopic technology?

Is it related to 3D touch???

In Novint, you will find the answer.

"Oh sweet, Nintendo's making their very own Roomba!"

Arguably, Nintendo made the very first Roomba - the Chiritori was a remote-controlled vacuum cleaner that was recently featured in the Warioware games.

And does attending Digipen make you a pro on Nintendo's corporate going-on now? Damn - next time I whip together a render with a glowing-blue something on it, I'm going to flash my credentials as a founding member of the Nintendo Super Fun Club. I've got the Nintendo Power pin to prove it!

You are all wrong, it is meant to be held thhe other way, so the logo is upside-down to everyone except the user. The device is called a Nin-Taco.

If you look closely you can spot some imperfections (the gaps on the left and right), so there's a good chance this is not a render. Perhaps it is a foam lap-board type thing for arcade-style controls? You could mount various controllers onto the out-of-frame area at the top.

No doubt, that has been photoshopped. The little black 'pockets' have the same shadow on them in each location. Plus look how dark the left side of the ring is to the right, that's to hide the shadow, which if you look VERY closely at nub in the lower left corner, its 'mirrored' and the other three left side pockets have been completely blackened out.

looks pretty good otherwise. kudos!

Yeah... this is fake. came from the Newgrounds forum, dude who made it already said it was fake.

Link:
http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic.php?id=316575&page=2

for the lazy:
"Haha I fooled all you dumb bastards, lol.

HARDY HAR HAR!

Well, maybe not all of you.... but some of you.... come on -- you were fooled.

But it really isn't a 3D model. I actually used a real photo and just photoshopped the hell out of it, lol. Sorry if I actually got anyone worked up. Just a joke."
