Sometimes you hear news that just breaks your heart - like
a game that was cancelled for business reasons. Especially when that game is a follow up to one of the most
enjoyable adventure games of LucasArts' history. When I heard Sam & Max was cancelled by LucasArts (probably
for a lack of anything to do with Wookies and Jedis), despite all the amazing screenshots that hit the web, I was sad;
I grew up on those games, and I had such a smile on my face after discovering the Nintendo DS SCUMM emulator
yesterday.
Well, Sam and Max may rise again. 1up is reporting that Steve Purcell, current Pixar employee and creator of Sam
& Max, wants to get back into the games industry and now has regained the license to Sam & Max, which means
very likely he can make a game that, if not Sam & Max Hit the Road, something similar. Maybe even a movie -
he does work for Pixar. Oh, the possibilities just make my mouth water. Adventure fans rejoice!
