Apparently Neo has succeeded a little too well. Horrible jokes aside, Sony Online has decided to get rid of
its nine servers and lessen the world of the Matrix to just three - two normal PvP servers, and one "hostile"
world. Staffers are promising a seemless transition and transfer of character data into these servers, and is
even giving players a chance to name these new worlds - unless, of course, they receive 100 submissions for "Neo
World;" somehow, I think they would nix that idea.
The move is due to the waning success of this movie-to-MMORPG franchise : apparently, too few people were occupying
the servers that it was hard to find someone with which to play. At least Sony Online is doing their best to
salvage the game and still let the fanbase enjoy the game. From what I've read (I never played the game myself),
it isn't all that bad.

Matrix online was a horrible online experience. The most people i've ever saw on screen was 3 people. This game was pointless after playing for 2 hours. I don't see any point to it at all. I'm gonna take some of that Red Pill now...

Reading 1up's blog about MxO, it sounds pretty damn bad. The writer has given up playing it now, but has just had a series of bad experiences with it.
Doesn't sound worth the time or the money.

It isn't all that bad, actually... it's buggy, sure, but hopefully SoE can clear that up.
Just a bit of a clarification... the worlds have been consolodated into two NON-PVP worlds, and one Hostile world, which is PvP (or Organization vs. Organization, to be more accurate).

Everyone missed the boat on this one, in my opinion. The development was bungled slightly with the title passing from publisher to publisher and it all seemed a little too rushed to get the next big Matrix thing out. It was a shame really, that they didnt take the route that GuildWars did in it's pricing structure. The pay for play MMO's isnt sustainable, because players will have to choose which games they shell the money out for. So, for the average user, do you pay for Final Fantasy Online, Matrix or World of Warcraft?? (not to mention a whole plethora of others!)

If your in the UK, play.com are knocking this out for £2.99. I think that speaks volumes about the game.
