Sony plans to release the US version of its 2.0 firmware upgrade for the PSP next Friday, August 12th. If you have already downloaded the Japanese version—which is compatible with US PSPs—you might want to consider installing the US version anyway. Why? Because a US PSP with Japanese firmware is said to void the machine's warranty. Yikes! In case you've been behind on the news, the 2.0 upgrade features the following:
-
Web browser
-
Wallpaper customization
-
Video upgrades (including AVC support, A-B repeat & 4:3 screen ratio)
-
MP4 (AAC) & WAV support added
-
Image transfer (PSP to PSP)
NOTE: If you are upgrading from 1.5 or below, you will loose current homebrew functionality.
