Good news indeed.

Have to say I've not bought a SEGA game in a long time, and I was a huge fan back in the day. I'm still praying for a return to fortunes and a new console - SEGA just don't seem to work as a Software developer alone :(

Ghost House! Maze-Hunter 3D! Wonder Boy in Monster Land! Transbot! Choplifter! California Games! Teddy Boy! MJ's Moonwalker! Shinobi!

Pretty much ANY game with that glorious white and black pattern on the box. That's right, I'm talking MASTER SYSTEM!! It's funny how, looking back, I actually beat few if any SMS game.

But my favorite of all of these? Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap. That is one of my favorite platformers/games of all time.

I want F355 3!! Man that is one of the best racing games ever!

Im still in love with my dreamcast, great machine even by todays standards. A lot of the games coming out now on the PS2 would probably run on the Dreamcast.

I would like to see SEGA pull back into the Console market in the future.

TJ said "SEGA just don't seem to work as a Software developer alone"

uh so you don't think a $95.5 million dollar profit qualifies as Sega working as a software developer? lol. I'd be happy if *my* company made that kind of profit and I'd certainly consider it a big success.

Kudos to Sega - great games, and great memories of their console glory days.

You got me a little out of context there entica.

Look how innovative SEGA were with the superb Dreamcast.

What innovations have they done this generation? Super Monkey ball is the only contender I can think of.

The industry is hurting from the loss of Hardware innovation from SEGA, and in my honest opinion their current gen games have lacked a little due to being on Hardware not controlled by them.

I was one of the biggest SEGA fans in the day, just in a little negative mood is all.

I'd have to go ahead and say either crazy taxi or one of the classic Sonic platformers on the genesis. Ask me this question again in a few months and I'll probably option Spartan: Total Warrior too.

Haha! Altered Beast! It came free with the Mega Drive in '91.

Dignan17, if you haven't done so you should pick up a copy of the ultimately generically titled "The Ninja" for the Master System, if only for the music when you pick up the invulnerability power up.

Or you could just tell your Master System to fuck off and drag your Mega Drive/Genesis out.

My fave Sega game of the last year? I can't think of a new Sega game I've played this year. Shocking for someone who legally changed his name to Jonic to honor Sonic's tenth anniversary. Fave Sega game of all time: If Sonic 3 & Knuckles counts I'll take that. If not then Sonic & Knuckles. I feel old saying it, but they really don't make them like that anymore!!!

let me think of some I think.. how about the sports talking baseball and football.. wasnt that sega?? Also how about golden axe?? but one of my favorites of all time was altered beast i loved playing that game for 10 min and passing it all the way through over and over.. when i was a kid fantasy star was to hard and considered older for me. I prefered quick arcade games. Shinobi also was great. But their best franchise still has to be sonic. Sonic was like my fix after passing Mario bros. More challenging and going 10x as fast also was a blast. The last sega game I bought was panzer dragon orta and well it was good but to quick.. was disapointed needed more of a challenge. Talking about Sega made me wanna go buy Sonic Heroes for my son now.. (or maybe for me)

Oh the memories, Id have to pick F-Zero GX, Panzer Dragoon Series including Orta on xbox, Gunstar,Streets of Rage, Daytona Arcade and Phatasy Star. There really are too many to list. I have a feeling Sega will release another console in the future once the profits get high enough and with the help of Sammy.

I think it's pretty telling that most of the great Sega games listed here are 10 years out. Post-dreamcast, with the exception of sports games, Sega has pretty much been limp. Sure, there have been a couple of standouts...but let's be honest, here: how many people are playing Spikeout, Iron Phoenix, Matrix:Online, Otogi 1/2 or Spy Fiction? Billy Hatcher, people? How many Sega games of the last couple of years do you remember with the same nostalgia or desire for replay as any of the games listed in previous posts? Only a handful, I'd wager. For every Jet Set Radio, there's two or three Chu Chu Rockets.

Sega needs to get their act together, IMHO, and add more cow-bell.

YA YA YA ya YAA. Crazy Taxi!! What hand cramps that game gave me.

The Original Phantasy Star is the only game I have beaten 4 time. Once on the mastersystem, Twice emulated and once on the GBA. Man that game was ahead of its time.

My favorite is still Skys of Arcadia though.

Phantasy Star 2. Or Phantasy Star 4. No other games even come close. We need a proper continuation of the Phantasy Star series, not this multiplayer bullshit. Give it to me quick and give it to me hard. And, preferrably, give it to me on the PSP.

So 90 mln in profits for sega deserves a yaaaaah.
