Square-Enix toys with next-gen multiplatform strategy

CloudDon't fret Sony fanboys you'll be able to horde your precious Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest franchises for a while longer—minus FFXI. But Square-Enix is certainly reconsidering its strategy for the next-gen. For starters, president Yoichi Wada believes the next wave of consoles will usher in a new era where no one system dominates the market. Instead, he believes the gaming market will be divided into "high end" and "low end" pockets depending upon a given consumer's needs. In the past, Square-Enix has always focused on developing for the dominant console, but this time around, the company plans to plant seeds throughout the gaming community. Good news for all.

[Thanks, Jarod]
