The easy answer is to just buy both systems. If you can't afford to, get a better job. If you can't do that, buy whatever one is cheaper and stop whining :P I'm a little more excited about the PS3 personally, but I'll buy both in case Sony drops the ball.

I'm gonna buy the Revolution to keep as an ornament for my desk. It's so damn sexy.

Sony's real plan is to create the most amazing console ever, just not in power, games or... well, anythign else really. What they are planning to do is make it so expensive that the only person who can afford it will be Bill Gates... Then when Bill buys it, Microsoft goes broke, and Nintendo win with their game-playing desk ornament.

That is what will happen. I am from the future.

Chew 20 times before you cross the road.

Is Sony being too cocky? Sure, but I think they have a right to be. They're the "king of the hill" right now, and no one can argue with that.

Now, here are some things to chew on when arguing who's better than who:

1)Sony can do a better job of pulling off a "smoke-and-mirrors" routine when hyping it's PS3 than Microsoft can actually showcasing it's Xbox360 and the games coming out for it.

2)The Japanese gamers tend to support techno-stuff made by companies from Japan. It took Microsoft years to get it's Windows OS on Japanese computers like the PC-98 and FM-Towns.

3)Microsoft has been bending over backwards trying to get Japanese developers and publishers on-board for it's system, and have only recently (with 360) succeeded by amazingly getting every publisher (afik) signed up.

4)Nintendo is printing money in their basement, so to speak, courtesy of Pokemon. You can't rule them out, although from what I've seen with Gamecube sales and what they've shown of Revelution (controller, anyone...wtf?), it appears they're slipping.

Point is that it's comes down to games and what gamers are willing to shell out for them and the hardware to play 'em. And isn't it really about the games? It is to me.

BTW: I think the Neo-Geo came out at $800 US. I remember seeing it in a Toys'R'Us and drooling at how "arcade perfect" it was, for it's time.
