said, VG Cats also received the same letter that we got
from Jack Thompson on Killer 7, and did what every good smart ass should do - they wrote back. VG Cats has posted
all of the back and forth e-mails between them and Jackie Boy for all of us to view. Some may find them revolting
- I caution you, the e-mails have been rated T for Teen but deserve higher (horrible joke, I am sorry). What
disgusts me is that Jack actually threatens legal action against VG Cats, a cartoon web site. Sigh…check out the
banter here.
And when cartoons strike back, they strike in groups. Ctrl+Alt+Delete Online's artist Absath has written a long
editorial on the whole situation, and has made a comic
prediction on Jack's childhood.
Very funny.
For those who have never seen these sites before, shame on you. Now, bow your head and go read all the cartoons

You can tack any stigma you want onto video games but nothing's going to change unless the parents actually remove their heads from their asses and start raising their children properly. And Mr. Jackass Thompson's statistics of school shootings in that interview is dead wrong...but then again, wouldn't want the facts to get in the way of his political ambitions, now would we?

I don't doubt that this 'epidemic' is the same as the Tipper Gore- Label the Bad Music epidemic of the early 90s. We will see some more enforcement of the rating system, or a 'better' system, which I think SHOULD be enforced. I don't want young kids playing adult games, but I want adult games to be available.
Some of the things Thompson says are just plain ridiculous, though.

I agree that little kids shouldn't be playing violent games. I mean, what kind of screw up parent would allow their kid to play GTA? But its really hard to even take him seriously and try to reason with the man when he starts into name calling. "Get a name and a life." This guy needs to grow up.

I kind of think of Jack Thompson as the William Hung of video games- no one actually likes listening to him, but we just can't look away. What's he going to do next? Attack Sims 2 or release a christmas album?

He keeps going on about "They've been training on Halo to be snipers" ... er, correct me if im wrong, although im 99% sure im correct, but sniping in Halo is absolutly nothing like real life sniping. In games im not a bad sniper, yet in real life when shooting (As in the .22 cadet training rifle) i couldnt hit the great wall of china from 10 paces.
But can you imagine someone trying to train using it? they would miss every time due to the fact Halo has no ammuntion physics as far as i know so things like wind and distance doesn't even come into the equation ... and if they are even crazy enough to try, they would be running around looking for a shield boost and the rocket launcher.
