Has it really only been four years since this generation began? 2001 ushered in the launch of the Nintendo
GameCube. I think any system that has at least ten games I would buy as a successful system, and even though
Nintendo's little box cannot come anywhere close to claiming the top spot, it did pretty well. I got my money's
worth, at least. Nintendo still made a few mistakes with its lack of online gaming and lack of third party
support, but it had fun games and that's what counts (so did all consoles, really). Plus it did quite a bit of
good, too (the Wavebird, the price, and they at least a little bit alleviated the kiddie image). Since this generation
is pretty much reaching its end, GameSpy is publishing its Top 25 for each console. It has recently finished its
Top 25 Xbox Games and now its doing its GameCube
salute (I'm sure the PS2 will be up shortly; it's just got a lot more games to sift through).
The final 5 games for the GameCube list should be up tonight, but in the meantime you can check out 25-6. What
would your top 5 GameCube / Xbox games be?
