The business of video games is clearly going through the growing pains associated with the transition from
early-adulthood to fully-contributing adult member of society (pun intended). Apparently the head of the ESA,
Doug Lowenstein, and the duke of music at EA, Steve Schnur, are hosting a $1000 a plate fundraiser for - hold your
breathe - Hillary Clinton. According to
Rocky Mountain News,
the ESA apparently shrugs the details of the event as "private schedule" details in the life of Monsieur
Lowenstein. However, post GTA-San Andreas debacle, this schedule of events seems appropriately
serendipitous. So… if you have $1000 eating a hole in your pocket, enjoy talking about "policy" issues, would
like to contribute to the "Friends of Hilary" fund, and can get to the Phoenix Park Hotel in DC on September 14, join
in the fun. Help the Video Game industry grow up real good.
