Games + Booze + Women = Bushnell's Media Bistro
Nolan Bushnell is at it again. He founded Atari in 1972 and sold it four years later for $28
million with which he founded the Chuck E. Cheeze chain of restaurants that bring cheap food and digital entertainment
under one roof. Many see him as the father of the software entertainment industry.
At the Ziff Davis Gaming Summit held in Sonoma, California this week, Bushnell announced plans to found a new chain of restaurants designed to lure women into gaming. He figures that if he builds it well, women will come and men will follow.
The restaurants will be outfitted with touch-screen tables that allow men and women to play nonviolent games designed to increase interaction between the two species. One game that is planned for this table platform is a wine-tasting game in which a couple can order a mystery wine and take an interactive quiz on the characteristics of that wine. Righteous.
Games + alcohol + women? The holy grail, friends. Pray that these restaurants take off.

Not the kind of DnB (a.k.a. Drum and Bass) I'd be looking for, but it's all good nonetheless. The closest one to me is pretty damn far.

I personally know Nolan Bushnell, his son goes to my school and is one of my best friends.

I know the sexes are very different sometimes, but we're still the same species. :)

Bushnell deserves far more credit than what is given to him. There would certainly not be a Steve Jobs without Bushnell, and I would argue that the eventual success of Windows in the home market has a lot to do with the importance of graphics that Atari championed for so long. Without Atari, we'd probably still be CGA color land with PCs, and we'd like it.
