Photos from alpha version of Starcraft
Fansite Supreme Starcraft has compiled a series of photos from very early versions of
Starcraft, Blizzard's blockbuster real-time strategy game that's still going strong today, nearly eight years after its
release in 1998.
Some of the earliest photos show a game that was essentially "Warcraft in space," prior to an extensive overhaul of the idea by Blizzard. The earliest screenshot (part of which is pictured here) is from "early 1996." For fans of the game and of game design, these screenshots are a treat.

I almost forgot how I would panic when I heard tanks engaging in seige mode... while I am beginning to havest vespeine gas. Getting rushed was a slap in the face.

As a longtime SC player I found this page to be totally engaging. I love being able to see the stages of development of one of the greatest titles of all time. Fantastic.
