Photos from alpha version of Starcraft

Starcraft circa 1996Fansite Supreme Starcraft has compiled a series of photos from very early versions of Starcraft, Blizzard's blockbuster real-time strategy game that's still going strong today, nearly eight years after its release in 1998.

Some of the earliest photos show a game that was essentially "Warcraft in space," prior to an extensive overhaul of the idea by Blizzard. The earliest screenshot (part of which is pictured here) is from "early 1996." For fans of the game and of game design, these screenshots are a treat.
