Say what you will about the evil monopolistic company Microsoft (I don't mind them too much, and I thought that even
before I switched to a Mac), this interview really has you look at the Xbox in a brighter light. In the linked
interview, Peter Moore discusses why he chose to sign on with the Xbox, how he felt about the Dreamcast (the console he
worked with prior to Microsoft), and makes many references to websites such as SPOnG and Eurogamer - which is wonderful
to hear that he keeps in touch with the online community's opinion.
I can kind of see his point now, how the Xbox can be considered a spiritual successor to the Dreamcast. Sure,
one was built by the underdog company and the other was designed by the evil empire, but it does share many of the same
features - online capabilities, improved graphics, a similar shaped controller (at least, it was until they opted for
the much nicer small controller). And from what he says, it does seem like they learned a lot about what the did
and didn't do right with the Xbox. Overall, it's a great look at the humanity side of the Microsoft's games
division.
