Xbox is the only system not filled with Vaporware and empty promises from Sony.

PS3 + Revo

I'll play anything not on those two on my PC.

I love these discussions just because the people who come in complaining about nintendo having kiddy games tend to write like 5'th graders in remedial english. Take # 40 as an example.

Other than that, It is interesting to see how the numbers are breaking out in the poll. X360 -> Rev -> PS3. very different than all of the others that have been published. I wonder if that is related to how much we know about each of the consoles. The 360 is the only one that we really know a significant amount about, we have a good idea of what the launch/early games will be and what the online service will be. Whereas we really know very little about the other two. Besides knowing that the PS3 will be OMGTEHROXORZ because it uses CELLS!! and will be able to render toy story 2 in real time (even in PS2 emulation) what else do we really know about it that we don't about the rev? We don't even know what the controller will look like, remember the Dual Dong controller they showed off at E3 was just a concept. The most significant fact we know about these two is that Nintendo will be making games for the rev and not the PS3, and that is what I think is putting it on top.

WOW! When I saw the results, I didn't expect to see the PS3's percentage to be lower than the Revolution's.

I chose the PS3 and Revolution. I have no intent of buying a 360.

To be honest, I'd only get an Xbox for Halo, Halo 2, and Conker, to say the least. Of the current systems, I currently own a GCN and PS2. I [was] a die-hard Nintendo fan until one of my friends let me borrow his PS2 for a few months. When it was time to give it back, I decided to buy my own PS2. Being a PS2 owner has definitely influenced my decision in wanting to buy a PS3.

As for the Revolution, its Nintendo. they've been in the business pretty much since the beginning, and it's without a doubt that they have the most impressive lineup of games throughout their history. Since the Revolution will be able to play every Nintendo game known to man, there's pretty much no reason to NOT get a Revolution.

I dont see why you guys wouldnt want a PS3, Xbox is also good but most of you want REVOLUTION????? Nintendo stated that they dont want a POWERFUL and well featured system. DING DING DING. what do you think is the point of NEXT generation consoles. I mean nintendo remade the gameboy advanced like 3 TIMES. I dont think they really want to go anywhere. But xbox360 is going well with the graphics, power, and features and same with PS3. But for some reason Xbox360 WITH the hard drive costs a mere 300$ and thats with TiVo and without it its only 200$. But sonys PS3 is planned to cost around 500$ smackaroonies. Doesnt that say something about it thats GOOD. And its full of GAMES! unlike Xbox. I know PS3 might TOO expansive for some but if you could have one of the three for free, why wouldnt u choose PS3?

Hey Hydro: It seems that you don't know anything on the subject, so it would be wise for you to know this: awesome if you shut your trap before you spew more bullshit.

First of all, costs haven't been announced. Not even for the Xbox 360. Second, Nintendo said that (Specifically, Satoru Iwata, the president): "The time when Horsepower alone was all that mattered is over". Yet, they did say that it will be more powerful than the Gamecube. The (speculated) specs, even if less powerful than 360 and PS3, can compete with them.

If you think that graphics mean a lot, then obviously you're an amateur at games. Don't you know that Playstation 1 had the least RAM on its generation of consoles, and was, overall, the least powerful console, and yet, it beat the Nintendo 64, which was very very powerful back then? (Even when Nintendo 64 had sold more than any other console on the first day it launched: half a million in japan, and 350 000 in three days in the states… Costs for the cartridges cut down third support, so that’s why)

And they redid the gameboy advance... so? It sells. But they also made the Dual Screen. It's less powerful than the PSP, and it's kicking the shit out of it (with nintendogs, it has sold thrice what PSP has sold in the same weeks it's been out)

Yet, you're not realizing something very important: Innovation. While nintendo may not be beefing up graphics, it wants to make us play games different. That is, change the definition of gaming. (Of course, you will still play some games the classical way, but it's very likely that you will play in a "revolutionary" way with nintendo, as everyone did in each nintendo console iteration)

On the other hand, what's different between the 360 and PS3 excluding games? 360 has an online service that is just a little better than Playstation's, while playstation's graphics and media drive are better. So? Any drastical changes to their controllers? The playstation is the same goddamned controller I bought ten years ago. The xbox controller has underwent some minor changes because the button configuration was shitty.

Nintendo, on the other had, has given us drastical changes on each controller, not because their controllers sucked, but rather, because they have talent at that. Check out each difference. Of course, you will say that the GC controller looks similar to the others. But the Xbox is a copy with an abomination of button accomodation. And playstation is a copy of super nintendo with 64 controllers. Nintendo introduced us to all that. And to analog buttons. And to vibrating controllers. And to Fast loading. And to 3D platformers.

The only mistake they did, which alienated 3rd party companies was keep the cartridge one more generation. Yet, RE2 was amazing. It preserved the pre-rendered videos. Square could have used the same method of compression and make us avoid the huge loading times in the playstation. And FF7 for the 64 would have had better graphics. And it was possible to make.

The only reason why playstation 2 sold so much was because it had DVD, and 3rd parties gave more support to it because of that reason. The gamecube didn't have a DVD player, because they wanted to be exclusively for games. No wonder the best gamecube games sell as much as the best playstation games even when there is a fourth of gamecubes worldwide than that of the playstation. You know why? Because many people that bought playstation were not hardcore gamers. They just saw in it a cheap DVD player, and maybe a gaming console for three or four (sports) games, and the same happened with Xbox. Otherwise, why do you think Microsoft lost so much money? They hoped to finance it with games, but unfortunately for them, the Xbox buyers wanted the console to play DVDs, and perhaps FEW games, but playstation was already out there, so why buy a second DVD player? That's why it sold so poorly. It sold what gamecube sold, even when gamecube lacked 3rd party support, the xbox graphics power, a DVD player, internet services, and the money of Microsoft.

Now, every company is looking to attract newcomers. But, Nintendo is looking to attract them with games, just as Playstation did by giving 3rd parties cheaper costs to maximize earnings. But now that won’t happen since games for 360 and PS3 will be very expensive to make, due to HDTV support which will have to make companies add artists. On the other hand, Nintendo will give developers tools to make original games, not just graphically better games, and it will be also cheaper to make for games, since it doesn’t require HDTV compatibility, and it won’t use HD-DVD or Blu-ray. Of course, it won’t sell as much, since it’s not giving you all the bullshit that the average joe thinks he needs, but games will sell a lot, thanks to all the Nintendo fanboys that are hardcore gamers, and they are many more than the PS or Xbox fanboys. PS and Xbox owners are not brand supporters, and the hardcore gamers support game companies, not hardware companies (unless they are sony or Microsoft fanboys, that much fewer than any other company’s fanboys, specially Nintendo’s).

In the end, Microsoft will earn a lot of new gamers, Sony will not necessarily due to its expensive console (but in Japan it will beat every other console), and Nintendo will earn some new gamers, and retain (or increase) its fan base. But Nintendo will be the one that makes most profit, in terms of percentages.

...wow, nice. But all you said was how much SMARTER nintendo is in selling its products but that just means basically that they know how to trick the public and has nothing to do on how good the games and features are. New controls, sure why not, most people are probly bored of the same old same old, but you said that Nintendo is for "serious gamers" well all i see in nintendos games is little kiddy stuff. I mean sure there are some good games and i said "some" but not all.
As technology is increasing companys are trying to put new features into one which is what sony and microsoft are doing, unlike nintendo which is just for the games. And whats the point of that? you have a computer because it has alot of features built in it, if you dont want new and more powerful features why dont you just go buy a separate system for everything? Because having features built into one is better then built into dozens of things. Which is why people will probably be going more for xbox and PS3 rather than Nintendo.

What so you think consoles were made for if not were to play games. And all these features your talking about what makes you think your going to use them all. Go ahead pay extra for that Blu-ray disc player when probably the next generation standard DVDs are HD-DVD.
