Xbox 360 site updated with new game footage

quake4 xbox360 The official Xbox 360 site has been updated with a great new video montage featuring footage from all of the following games that ranges from the craptacular to spectacular.

Once you've loaded the site, seek out the Madden thumbnail and click that for the video.

Here's the list, in order that the games appear.

WTF, the site forced itself into full screen. That is so ghetto.

Anyway, like 60% of those games seemed to be undead/zombie games or related. Even the initially cool-looking Gears Of War... bam, monsters. Give me a break.

Quake 4? Oh, I didn't even realize, because it look EXACTLY LIKE DOOM 3. Talk about a limited engine - "sure, use the new Doom 3 engine, as long as you like dark corridors and models with a ridiculous amount of bump mapping. we call it the swiss-cheese-effect. delicious!" Yeesh.

Kameo actually looks kinda fun...

Winners: Ghost Recon 3 and new the Need For Speed. w00t!

Xbox360 looks the shit now... What was that zombie game when the guy was using a lawn mower and bowling ball it kill them, lol.

Yuck! MS just proved to me that they're pushing this generation too early. Sure those look decent, but nothing like a next gen demo should. And the only scenes that impressed me were obviously pre-rendered.

Some of them looked awesome, some of them looked terrible. But then again, that happens with every system.

Pasha-The terrible UI is the point of that site. It's supposed to be mysterious and such. You spend more time there because you don't know if you've seen everything. You send it to people and go "yo, click the one that's like, 4 circles in a square turned sideways" and then your friend clicks on 4 circles in a square normally placed, and he finds something new. Etc. It's called advertising.

Goo, Microsoft is pulling a Saturn/Dreamcast - the games are identical to this generations and pretty much are all sequels...no innovative gameplay here. And if that weren't enough, the graphics aren't that much a leap ahead of the current XBOX. Why the hell would I get one of these pieces of crap?

Oh boy !! I could see a lot of disappointed Zombies once the PS3 releases !! People think they could buy a $300 console, and expect to be able to play the Jurassic Park movie?? Grow some brains zombies !! This is what you'll be seeing on the X360 and the PS3 when they launch. There is no chance in hell that you are going to see a CGI movie world next gen.

I think you are going to see a lot of people that are disappointed. Why? Because MS is pulling a Sega trying to be the first to market, effectively pulling all the other competitors into the next generation a full year or 18 months early. The jump in power won't be as great, and if it is, it will cost ya.

I don't think anybody expects a "CGI movie world", but I do expect something that looks much better than this gen. Think of the jump we saw between Super Nintendo/Genesis and N64 and PS1. Even the jump into this generation was much more impressive. This demo is not anywhere near my expectations for a next gen console.

And I think you might want to get another movie to use for comparison; JP is getting old.

If you really think about it the time has already come for next gen gaming. Lets compare differences in this gen gaming and next gen gaming. Compare Half Life 2 with Halo 2. Compare Doom 3 with Killzone. Get the point?

We have already reached a point where next gen consoles have increased 5 times the power of the last generation. What you see now may look mediocre but give the developers more time to get used to these new consoles and I guarantee youll be blown away.

I've seen most of this live at E3 and let me say, the jump in quality is HUGE. If you're still playing on your 32" analog TV then yeah you'll barely notice the difference. If you have a 42" or greater HDTV, you will be in love. Most people don't even know that right now, NBA2K3 looks better on a HDTV than Halo 2

that has got to be the most poorly designed "niche" site ever made. I'm not even going to call it designed, becuase only an idiot would make the site so unintuitive.

Xbox 360 on the other hand, will rock the hizz-ouse.

Very nice stuff! This is just the launch line up, don't expect the Xbox 360 to have it's best looking games at launch.. Thats just stupid.

And it's a home console, not a PC. If you compair this to the Xbox and the PS2 it's one hell of a Huge jump.

That Video was shown at E3 months ago, this just has proven to me that joystiq are living under a rock, is the same video from E3 , nothing new and the quality of the games haves been increased since then cause Developers now have the Beta kits instead of the G5 Alphas.

First, the video is different. This is not the same video that was shown at E3.

Second, readers of this site expect us to let them know when there's new info available about one of the big consoles. This is new information.

Third, not everyone attends E3. Most of our visitors were not there.

they are the same videos that we have been seeing, and that were showed at e3.
now that means of course, that any INGAME footage you saw was all running all alfa kits which were running at about 25-30 percent of the full systems power. which, they were actually tunning all of this stuff off of MAC G5's!

and like the other dude said, we arent gonna see a CG movie world just yet.
we are going to see something that looks like KILLZONE 2 in about 2-3 generations ahead...probably on a ps5 or something.
and you cant compare the jump from SNES to N64. that is silly!
that is when video games were just starting on a larger scale. 2d to 3d.
i really dont think the jump from ps one to ps2 was very big at all.

i am looking forward to the xbox360. heck, i already have it preorded along with perfect dark zero. heck ya.

HA! Notice I didn't once mention another console, so their goes your idea of fanboyism. I simply stated the fact that I'm not impressed by these supposed "next gen" visuals.

And if you think that Madden bit is from actual gameplay, you are smoking some hard stuff. Look at what we have for Madden 06 now; I don't think its going to get that much of a visual overhaul on the new hardware.

Man, those games look very disappointing. I don't see much of a difference in graphics compared to current-gen games.

Sony and Nintendo are both smart in not releasing the PS3 and Revolution anytime soon. Why buy an Xbox 2 in a few months when you can play games that are even more polished on today's current-gen systems and wait until the real next gen systems come out?

Oh boo hoo! The games dont look as good, or could be better or this or that - are any of you people that are complaining actually every satisfied about anything? And beyond that can you do better? build a better game, a better system? I have a simple solution, if you dont like the thing then dont buy it, dont play it and spare us the cry baby attitude eh? Some of us actually enjoy the look of these games and hey I will buy a 360 and a PS3 and what ever else they come out with - why? because I enjoy playing these games on these systems. And if its a lame looking game I dont buy it .. is this that hard to deal with? sheesh ...

They need to give out a high def WMV9 version. Viewing game previews for next gen inside a little window in a website does none of these games justice!

Hey Nate, it's not Madden's thumbnail, it's a image of a FB player helmet. jk...

For all the HD hype I agree with the poster above, to impress us they need to have higher res videos to choose from.

Gaming's not ALL about gfx, do you really expect such HUGE improvements as seen in the past, this gen's consoles have GREAT gfx now, hopefully the next gen can increase quality slightly but reduce lag,framerate issues moreso.

What I hope to be impressed with is better animation, realistic and fluid motion, and fantastic physics! Demo's can only hint at these types of improvements. Come November hopefully GAMEPLAY will put all our minds at ease...
