Is 50 Cent in Twilight Princess?
I think Nintendo is just getting goofy and
trying to block information leaks. First it was Richard Simmons who was announced to voice Tingle; now, 50 Cent
and Reggie Fils-Aime have "joined" the cast as Epona and "The Man," respectively, according to IMDB.com. I cannot
for even a second believe this; I think this is an amusing way to mess with everyone's favorite movie look-up
service. Would any Joystiq readers like to make a creative guess on what Zelda would be like if 50 Cent voiced
Link's horse? Or, better yet, what Reggie's character, The Man, would look like? Any guesses as to who
might be listed next?

Isn't Epona female?
Sicknic @ Dec 18th 2005 10:08PM
Oh gawd, say it isn't so. That no talent ass clown does not deserve to be in zelda.
Matt Pelham @ Dec 18th 2005 10:08PM
Ok, firstly, Epona is a horse. She whinnies, snorts, and gallops. 50 Cent has no part of this. Also, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is not mentioned for any credits for Zelda: Twilight Princess on either IMDB or the official Zelda Website.
Secondly, Reginald Fils-Aime is the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Nintendo of America. He doesn't do celebrity voices, particularily a character named "The Man" in Zelda. Read this for more about him:

Lastly, IMDB is the international MOVIE database, hence the acronym. It does not archive videogames, despite how grand in scope the story is, the scenery, the actors or anything.
If this is a gag post, it worked well, if not, lets not confuse the idiots of the world anymore than they already are.

I can't believe that anyone is even giving this a second thought, it's so obviously not true. Anyone can update the info on IMDB. Nintendo didn't release any of these details and since they don't comment on rumor they won't bother to correct it. Why joystiq wastes our time with this kind of post is beyond me.

I can buy a part for Reggie as a gag. Nintendo has cast employees in voice roles before. A lot of game companies, big and small, do that for minor parts or as gags. Sometimes the employees aren't half bad--Look at the Freedom Force games for examples.
But the 50 Cent thing? No way! If they were going to try for a big star to do voice acting they'd probably try for Robin Williams since he's a confessed Zelda fan.

You guys do realize that anyone can edit an IMDB entry. It is just like wikipedia, it is maintained by everyone on the internet.
SGII @ Dec 18th 2005 10:08PM
It's just foolish to think that any of this is true. The most prevalent of evidence being that Nintendo has never EVER included voice work for ANY Zelda game. Apart from Link's trademark "HAI! HEP! HEE-YAH!", any audio is purely for effect. I doubt anytime soon that we'll have a fully scripted speaking character in a Zelda game.
Da Greasy Guide @ Dec 18th 2005 10:08PM
maybe this will help Nintendo...cause they suck rocks otherwise
OTAM @ Dec 18th 2005 10:08PM
No. Nintendo knows what they're doing and they won't put 50 Cent in this game. It's just like the rumor with Nsync being in Star Wars.
Sony is the only ones I could imagine ever having a rapper voice the main character in their franchises.
sdfeesd @ Dec 18th 2005 10:08PM
Actually many video games are listed on IMDB.com.
Though this is almost surely a gag as 50 Cent would never do the voice of a horse. Especially if it was female since he is scared other rappers will call him 'gay'.
imark @ Dec 18th 2005 10:08PM
hey im peeved about the Zelda delay too but to take it to a larger arena like IMDB & start an absolutly crazy rumor out of spite is GENIOUS!
then watch Nintendo actually hire Fity for the part just because they believe people would actually want that.
still PURE AWESOMENESS complete with rainbows & unicorns.

Matt Pelham:
"Also, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is not mentioned for any credits for Zelda: Twilight Princess on either IMDB or the official Zelda Website."
Direct from the website:
"Credited cast:
Nobuyuki Hiyama .... Link (voice)
Takashi Nagasako .... Ganondorf Dragmire (voice)
rest of cast listed alphabetically:
50 Cent .... Epona
Reginald Fils-Aime .... The Man
Richard Simmons .... Tingle
(more)"
"Lastly, IMDB is the international MOVIE database, hence the acronym. It does not archive videogames, despite how grand in scope the story is, the scenery, the actors or anything."
You MAY want to check out the capabilities of the website before you post pure lies. MANY videogames are listed on the site. Do a search for DEVIL MAY CRY and you'll get a PLOT SUMMARY, VOICE CREDITS, a WEBBOARD, and almost everything else that is listed for movies. How bout Resident Evil? Or SOCOM? All videogames have a (VG) next to the title.
As per the post, I believe that the game's staff have confirmed that there will not be any voice dialog, just the traditional grunts, etc. So, regardless of who is listed on IMDB, it's flat out false.
Don't worry. Nintendo won't sell out on something like Zelda. But, Mario is another issue.
Coyote @ Dec 18th 2005 10:08PM
Ugh... well I dont know who would be in it but its not going to be anyone anytime soon, nintendo just pushed the release date back to 2nd quarter of 2006... hope this means their going to give a damn good comp to those of us who have preregistered :(
Toni @ Dec 18th 2005 10:08PM
I guess we'll know when it comes out lolol. Although if 'missy elliot' appears as the voice of zelda I'm getting a jap version of the game, lol jks.
