You might want to try a repoll now that Microsoft announced their 2 packages. I've heard of a lot of people cancelling their preorders...

Not to be bashing, but this poll is almost certainly wildly inaccurate.

Problem is, Joystiq has a lot of fanboy readers; it's why small debates escalate into full-blown pissing matches around here. I don't necessarily have a problem with anyone having a certain allegiance to a manufacturer (being a Mac user, I know all about that, lol), but it would be nice if people could toss aside their premunitions and make an honest choice.

Additionally, there are a lot of biases floating around. I mean, PS3 is going to be way overpriced, XB360 looks like it will be a slightly better version of the original XBox, and we still know nothing about the Revolution. It's too early for polls like this, because we really know next to nothing about these consoles.

The PS3 demos were either images from PS2 development (i.e. MGS4) or pre-rendered (Killzone 2). Microsoft loves to show off the 360's sexy white and green casing, but what actual live game footage have we seen? And what the heck is Nintendo thinking, anyway?

I think that when this poll is taken once all the consoles actually come out, we wil be seeing some wildly different results.

Yeah, right. If you want the hard drive, then get the $399 version and quit your complaining. It's not like the PS3 is going to ship with a HDD either so I don't see why anyone would change their vote.

Being bitter about the core system that you're not required to buy is pathetic.

This sorta reminds me of those not-so-scientific polls on CNN... you know, the kind where people are asked to log in and vote?

When you ask for volunteers for a poll, usually people who are the most "enthusiastic" about their choice are the ones taking part. Hardly a good representation....

I don't know which console will be #1, but i'm sure that Nintendo's won't be #2.

These polls are idiotic, Joystiq.

Makes sense, at least to me. Lots of people have a Gamecube as a second system. It gives you access to a very good library of exclusive titles.

I have a PS2 and a Gamecube. That basically makes about 99% of console games available to me. I could have gone xbox and Gamecube (I like the HD on the xbox and hate the ps2 load times), but the PS2 has a bigger library of games. Besides, I don't do monthly online gaming subscriptions and I'm not a fan of fps (so Halo is of no interest to me). So right there, the 2 big selling points of the xbox just went out the window. And one more thing, the gamecube and ps2 together take up less space than one xbox.

I dont think that even if they ran this poll again the statistics would change. So what MS will have 2 versions. If you were to buy the 360 @ $300, then bought HD cables, a headset (for people who dont have one) and remote by themselves, you would be well over $400 for the total price anyways.(I didnt include buying an extra controller because usually everyone buys one anyways) That is not even including a cordless controller, and hardrive. When you break it down its still really a good deal.

I think that the fanboys are just upset that they're favorite console didn't come out on top! (for now) Shit can still change between now and 2006. So just hold onto your panties. Nothing has been carved in stone yet. Its still to early to tell!

Honestly don't see how the pricing plan would force people to drop their pre-orders. The companies that did early pre-orders, such as EBGames and GameStop, both were initially reporting the price at $499 for the pre-order in their systems. The fact that it comes in $100 LESS than those pre-ordering were expecting shouldn't do a damned thing.

Next time you need 2 polls: one where you can only vote for one console and the other where you can vote for all 3.
And every gaming news website has a fanboyish following.

Oh shut up, some of you. You're just pissed because now there's a decent poll on a decent site that clearly shows that people DO want the Revolution.

Look how close it was to the 360?

And, better yet, look how much it beat out the PS3 by. If you're pissed off that the PS3 is so low, it's your fault. You probably didn't vote.

If you did, oh well, polls are polls.

PS3 for me. I agree with what you said though about the possible reasons the votes came out the way they did. Could be the price, could be that Microsoft keeps planting "leaks" on the net to keep everyone buzzing about 360.

the coolest thing about the Nintendo Revolution is the purported "classic gaming" feature where you get to play a bunch of the old classic nintendo games. that's what i'm looking forward to, if it materializes.
