The Wall Street Journal reports that some upscale hotels are adding technical gadgetry to their list of amenities in order to better lure travellers who yearn for rest, relaxation and a poolside game of Lumines. Here's what they're doing: Marriot International Inc. has beefed up some rooms with HD TV sets that can be easily connected to Xboxs, PlayStations, Laptops and other gadgetry. Who lugs his Xbox around on vacation, though? Carlson Hotels Worldwide (operates Radisson, Country Inns & Suites) is putting together plans to add Internet-enabled gaming to rooms. Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group has added iPods to some suites and Nintendo GameCubes in many suites. Sweet. Topping the list, Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica provides guests with PlayStation Portables. [Link to free version of the WSJ article via boingboing]
