French game company, ANKAMA Studio, has announced that their premier MMORPG will be available worldwide starting
September 1st. From my own experiences with the free beta version (which 80,000 people took part in) the game takes the
form of a Flash based engine with turn based battles and user customised characters. There are around 20 different
characters to choose from as well as 300+ spells, 17 areas to explore and other things like destinies (hero or bandit).
The game is playable on Mac/PC/Linux platforms either from in a web browser or as an application. It'll be available at
the relatively low monthly price of $6.90US/£3.90/$8CAD/5EUR/8.95CHF (you can tell they've really done their math!).
The only thing I don't understand is why they named their game one 'o' short of a word defined as "a stupid incompetent
person", namely "doofus".
