I pre-ordered at retail price 2 weeks ago. I do have a real dog, but there's enough love to go around.

I havn't got a DS yet, but with the arrival of games like Castlevania and Advance Wars I'll probally pick one up by the end of the year. When I do I'll definetly pick this game up especially if it's half price. Beyond its "kiddy" exterior appears to be a fun and addicting game.

(plus the puppies are so cute)

Just pre-ordered on amazon, thanks for the link. Be forwarned, my estimated ship date was October 2nd. I don't know how true that is, I have seen sites overestimate their shipping dates. Probably to lesson the complaints and to make them out like heros when your order arrives early. But I have enough to do in the mean time (damn you EQII) to fill my time.

Umm, yeah, you only get to pick from certain dogs at the beginning... But all 3 copies of the game have all the dogs in them! This is awesome!

From the IGN review:

"Nintendogs comes in three flavors: Nintendogs: Dachshund & Friends, Nintendogs: Lab & Friends, and Nintendogs: Chihuahua & Friends, but they're essentially one and the same. The only difference between the three is the set of six puppies that are available to the user at the start of the Nintendogs experience. The choice of which Nintendogs to pick up is simply a matter of which breed you want to begin your virtual life together -- all 18 standard breeds are in all versions of Nintendogs, and when you work together with your puppy the other breeds become available in the kennel for adoption."

I'll be paying full price tomorrow. Probably get it from the Nintendo store. As much as I'd love saving some cash, I have no patience.

Woof, bitches!

Heh, I might consider getting a second copy. See, I got nintendogs for free at EB. (They had this deal where if you traded in three GBA games, you'd get $30 off nintendogs, which makes it free basicly.).
Hell, $15 for another version? Why not? =)

Lectoid, did you have to pay shipping costs? I tried adding the Nintendogs to my cart at Amazon.com and it charged me $20 total which included $5 for shipping. Just wondered if others had this experience.

I like Nintendogs as much as the next guy (I'm eagerly awaiting my wiener dog for Tuesday) ... but isn't three topics in one week a bit overkill?

Yea, I had to pay shipping (and tax, damn), but still saved money. Like I said, I can wait a while to get this so no big deal.

Done, done and done.

I might just have to take advantage of my off-campus pass tomorrow, seeing as bestbuy is a few blocks away from my school. ;o

Now. All I need is an off campus pass ;o

The1 - I honestly have no idea how your post got removed; I'll look into it. And ill trooper, yeah, heh, we've written way too much about nintendogs lately; I dare you (double 'dog' dare you, sorry) to search "nintendogs" in our joystiq database - it's not pretty.

I think the posting of Nintendogs just shows how much hype it garners, this is only logical it turns into hype on a gaming blog.

We had dozens of XBOX 360 posts before E3, we had a post for every PSP game and dozens more in March, and now with a massively anticipated game we're getting three or four posts on that.

If it was the same story over and over then something would be off, but news of a price drop, news of a new version, news with reviews - all well worthy of a blog for a greatly anticipated game.

As for the subject matter, UK'er here, I've got £25 set aside for October the 7th.

It's no longer $14.99. It's now $28.95. At least that's what it said when I checked recently. I wonder what'll happen to all the people who ordered it while it said $14.99?

I checked again a few minutes ago and now the price is $29.99. The $14.99 price was obviously a mistake and I doubt very seriously that anyone will get the game for $14.99.

Yeah, I had ordered the fifteen dollar one, and they emailed me saying that they screwed up on the price. They're not even going to give me the price that they mislabled it as, which most stores do!

Me Too, I thought I had a copy of the fifteen dollar Chihuahua version on the way, but then I got their email saying that they screwed up on the price. It really stinks that they wouldn't honor the price that they mislabeled it as, for a number of reasons: First when I found out it wasn't coming, I had to go out and try to find a retailer who had this version available. After searching all over town On Fri and Sat, I managed to find a copy of the Lab & Friends version for 30 dollars, (This game is HOT!). Problem is the game is for my wife, and since we own four real Shelties, she really wanted to start the game with a virtual Sheltie pup. She saw the Chihuahua version last Tuesday while shopping, but I told her not to buy it since I thought I had the 15 dollar one on the way. Big mistake, now she's really, really, mad at me. I told her that all 18 dogs are supposed to be available in each of the three versions of the game. Now before my wife kills me, does anyone out there know how long it will take to unlock the Sheltie puppy in the Lab and Friends version? My other alternative is to tell her she can't open the game until I can exchange it for the Chihuahua version in two to three weeks, which is when some of the retailers said they would have it back in stock. Either way I'm screwed. Moral of the story is a Nintendog Chihuahua version in the hand, is definitely worth 15 dollars in the bush! I should've known 15 bucks was too good to be true. I just wish those guys were in the (Ninten)doghouse instead of me.

Well I guess nobody out there could help me with my dilemma referenced in my prior post. So here's what I found out on my own, after too many hours surfing the web: It takes 2000 trainer points to unlock the first new hidden breed of dog (Pug) in the Lab & Friends version of Nintendogs. Since the game works on real time and the pace is reinforced by several limits such as: a dog can only learn three or four tricks per day; you have to wait at least a half hour between walks; dogs can only enter three competitions in a day; it will take you approximately one week to earn 2,000 trainer points. The Shetland Sheepdog can be unlocked by earning 16,000 trainer points. Thus, it will take you at least 8 straight weeks of playing the Lab & Friends version, before you can unlock the Sheltie pup! Several stores in the local area said they were "caught off guard" by the sudden interest in this game, and that they won't be getting new stock for two to three weeks. So, it looks like I'm totally screwed in regards to the situation I was put in with my wife, (see prior post). Thank you very much Target on line; I definitely won't be back! My wife will have to wait two to three weeks before I can exchange her un-opened version for the correct Chihuahua & Friends version, and, I get to hear about it for two to three weeks... Whoa...I mean the rest of my life! This game better be all it's cracked-up to be.
