Easter eggs can be a true test of a gamer's
obsessive-compulsive behavior. Almost every game has some little out-of-place element that the developers purposely put
in so that someone with a lot of time on their hands can go hunting for them. GameSpot has written a small piece on
some of their favorite Easter eggs. This list is by no means complete (for a more comprehensive list, check out the
official Easter egg Archive here), but it does point out some eggs I had never known, such as the hidden room in A Link
to the Past and John Romero's head in Doom II, and the inclusion of the Diablo II Cow level just brings me back to the
good days of old. Mmm.
What is your favorite video game Easter egg? I am fond of the Yoshi cameo in Mario 64, myself.
