Probably just a countdown to the unleashing of their TV spots...something "clever" involving the color green and trees/wildlife?

It's most likely a countdown to their unvailing of the release date for the 360. It has been confirmed through retail outlets that Microsoft will announce the date around late Sept./early Oct.

You can just about see a Xbox 360 behing the rabbit thing. Strange. I agree with Andy, this is probably when the release date will be confirmed.

Damn you microsoft. Has anyone else spent the past half hour at work reading about Origen in a pathetic and futile attempt to decipher that site? So far I've learned that Origen castrated himself and was later tortured to death. . . but nothing about green bunnies, sadly.

Why does http://www.origenxbox360.org go to a google search on 'Oriental Generation'?

Seth, because your typing in .org instead of .com.

I know, I did this intentionally. .net and .com are both the same site, but .org is different. A whois on it looks like someone is trying to be secretive. It's related, somehow.

So - Origenxbox.org sends you to a google search for "Oriental" and "Generation". Related to the bonsai on the .com and .net pages? Origen clearly refers to Oriental Generation. Good. I'm glad it all makes sense. :P

TeamXbox has a good amount of wild speculation goin on as well as some good observations:
1) If you right-click and choose play, the rabbit dissapears.
2) "Origen" means source or beginning in spanish.
3)They speculate that the site could reference alice in wonderland, i.e. follow the rabbit. . .

I was just there and I had to highlight it to see the timer. Then I double clicked my clock to figure out the day/time of announcement, and when I went back to the page the bunny and the timer were gone. Did the timer and bunny disappear for anyone else?

Theophilus once cautioned: “The works of Origen are like a meadow of every kind of flower. If I find any beautiful flower there, I pluck it; but if anything looks prickly to me I avoid it as I would a sting.”

Bunnies represent reproduction and tree represent paper, so I think we are going to have self-replicating paper on Sept 27.

Just think, we would never need to recycle

Isn't there (or wasn't there) a marketing campaign called "Generation Xbox"? I would guess that Origen = Origin + Generation. Hence "www.origenxbox360.com" = Origin Generation Xbox 360.

Maybe it's a site only focused to the Spanish market... "origen" means "origin" in Spanish and it's also written in the right place for Spanish grammar: where in English should be "xbox360 origin" to be correct, in Spanish the correct place is "origen (de) xbox360".

Let's wait and see who's right ;-)

When you choose 'Play' or 'Forward', it does what any Flash would do and takes you to the next scene. What this is in this case is what would be shown when the timer has run out. What gets me, is there are two of these (ie you can choose 'Forward' twice before you are at the end of the Flash).

Oriental Generation eh... I'm sure that can't be unrelated. What with a bonsai tree and all...

Just to note, the timer ends on 12 noon BST (unless I suck at maths)... Hmm.

ARG or what.

The Tokyo Game Show is Sept 16-18, so that's not it. Rabbits and trees and growing apples...my guess is that it's the date that the very first 360 is "born" / manufactured.

The timer goes by your computer clock; you can set it ahead about a month and the timer will say 0, 00, 00, 00. Nothing happens, though.

Origen (the Christian philosopher) castrated himself.

Does that mean the xbox360 is emasculated, or maybe Microsoft is trying to say "We have no balls."

If you look at the stick that is holding the first 2 apples, you will also notice that same kind of stick on the branch above the bunny as well. This could be relevant....

I've been real curious bout this for a while, and none of your answers have been really useful (no offence) i mean, some of them are possibilities but they're just not that probable... I'm guessing, its a countdown to a surprise release date for the XBox 360... or just a scam that some freaks put on, just to get our hopes up for something spectacular (i hope not) and if u look really carefully on the top set of apples, you can see the top half of the MSN Messenger symbol... hmm? plzzzz some wacked out philosopher plz figure this out, its driving me loco!

Each rabbit has an xbox360 behind it.
The big rabbit represents the Deluxe version of the 360. The little rabbit represent the core version of the 360. Today they annouced the release date for US, Europe, and Asia.
Does this give any insight? No.
