NASCAR has its primary fan base in the south, as anyone who has paid any attention to the
sport knows. Now certain things don't play well down there. Like fancy pants drivers from California.
Knowing that makes the decision to place Jeff Gordon as the prominent face on the cover of EA's new NASCAR game more
than a little surprising. Put a guy who, from what I've been told, is universally hated down south, on the front. Great
move. Sure, they've got Jimmie Johnson on there as well, but the connection continues, since last I remember, Jimmie
drives a car owned by… Yep, Jeff Gordon.
Stick Junior on the cover: gold. Hell, even Tony Stewart, despite being despised by some, would have made more sense,
but Gordon? Mind boggling. Maybe next year they'll shove Jimmie Spencer on the cover, just to make amends.

But Nascar fans will still buy it anyway regardless.

Because I always judge a game by it's cover...

Because I base all game purchases on who/what's on the cover of a game...

Actually Jimmie's car is owned by Hendrick Motorsports, as is Jeff Gordon's (and Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers and Terry Labonte). Jeff Gordon doesn't own either his or Jimmie's car. AND... Jimmie Johnson is from California, too. NASCAR games will sell no matter who is on the cover, as long as they are one of the better drivers. I own plenty of games with people on the cover who I have no care for, and sometimes despise.

hold your horses little man g4bites!
he's not discriminating anybody, he's just questioning EA's decision in the light that jeff gordon is not liked by an important group of nascar fans.
like, what would you think if the game you like, let's supose america's army- had a picture of osama cheering? not a wise marketing decision

There are just a big of groups of Jr haters, and even Tony Stewart haters. For about every driver there is, you'll find Lovers and Haters.
NASCAR is by far a Southern Sport anymore or even Southern Dominated. Many of the new drivers hail from other places than the south and certainly the majority of the tracks now are outside the SouthEast.
