IGN has posted a new trailer for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. It's
a little ambiguous as to whether the game footage is taken from the Xbox 360 version or the PC version. IGN does admit
that the two versions will differ, but Ubisoft has not revealed the full details. We can expect the PC version to put
more emphasis on strategy (i.e. the advanced tactical map) than its console counterparts. At any rate, the game looks
stunning.

Whoa.
In-game?
This game is starting to look as realistic as that Tetra Vaal video that was floating around a few years ago.

I know this sounds crazy but this game seems just too violent and flashy for its own good. I mean, wasn't the whole point of the original Ghost Recon to be that you use your head on the battlefield? It was supposed to rise above the heap of first person shooters out there. This just looks like Quake 4.
The thing that did it for me was the four soldiers with pea shooters walking down the _middle_ of the street with skin tight spandex uniforms. Whatever happened to Tom Clancy realism?

how many edits of this pre-rendered stuff do we have to ingest?? i think an extremely quick and grainy 2% near the end there was actual gameplay, a desperate editing job trying to tie it in with the cutscenes.
this whole new philosophy of trying to pass off pre-rendered movies as gameplay is infuriating and frankly very discouraging.
it speaks volumes about the current state of next-gen development that all we've seen of GRecon, Madden 360, and Killzone are nothing but portfolio pieces for CG houses.
it's unnerving because this kind of industry-wide farce has never happened before. it used to be, 5 seconds of gameplay from a PS2 would have us robbing purses. Now, they're trying to trick us with super-edited videos and floating ducks.
understandably, you can't show how great HD is on conventional devices, but surely taking some of the last generation games, upping the resolution, adding every light effect in the book and making them run at 60 fps would be good enough to rock our world for launch no? this should be the least these systems can do right? so why are watching Industrial Light & Magic??

"More Deadly," should be "Deadlier." Folks, adjectives that end with -ly form the comparative by adding -er.
Another thing, commas and all other punctuation marks go inside the quotation marks (i.e. "The dog went walking," not "The dog went walking",). Ok bye.

to UbiSoft's credit, they are serious about their Clancy games. they're a passionate bunch. #3, it's not good to be walking right next to walls when you're patrolling and thats not spandex its disturbingly real.
