The Bandai Namco corporate logo proposed and trademarked here is
one of two registered with the Japan Patent Office's database right now. With the coming merger between Namco and
Bandai (the biggest toymaker in Japan), it stands to reason that they'll need a new joint logo, and that they'll need
one soon, as the two companies will be merging September 29.
(The other logo found looks like
something Frito-Lay might make.) The consolidation of the toy and games
industries has been good for some companies (like Sega
Sammy), and maybe not be so good for others (like
Tomy and Takara). But do you think you can make
a better looking logo that doesn't incorporate a smiley face/emoticon? I can't wait to see that on the cover of the
first Gundam x Namco crossover game.
