Nintendo launches pitiful first Podcast
When we heard that Nintendo had launched its first ever
Podcast, wow, to say we nearly pissed ourselves is an understatement. Could this be it? Was Nintendo so
frickin' hip that it was going to broadcast the juicy details of the Revolution for free, over a Podcast? Apparently
not…
Basically, you're dealing with an infomercial for Nintendogs featuring a lotta tweenie girl-gamers. From what we
gathered, besides being "crazy realistic" and "bigger than Barbie," the best reason to own Nintendogs is: "[If you]
can't have dogs 'cause [you're] allergic to them, like, these are, like, real dog pets that [you] can have." Whack,
Nintendo. Shame on you. And another thing, what's with the elevator music?!

Heh, seriously, it's like listening to bad porn. "I know, we'll call it puppy love!"

That's how I feel about Nintendo sometimes.

Sick sick sick.... Tweens don't even listen to podcasts. They listen to Radio Disney.

This is not Nintendo's first podcast. Satoru Iwatas Heart of a Gamer speech at the Game Developers Conference this year was Nintendo's first podcast.

How is this a bad podcast? I think it's a great podcast. Nintendo set a goal -- at the risk of drawing criticism and "dirty looks" from the more aggresive, testosterone-driven side of the industry -- and has succeeded in bringing an innovative title to the masses.
I say good for them.

I always thought they should've advertised the game for children whose parents wouldn't let them have a dog. I'm sure many parents would be happy to drop $150 to shut their kid up.

I like how the little girls pronounce dachshund like how it is spelled.
BlackYoshi @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
Nintendo, seeing how popular shows like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy have made gays accepted, has decided to shed it's kiddy image for the "gay image". Miyamato was seen strolling down the street snazzily dressed in pink, drinking a can of "Gay Fuel" while listening to "Macho Man" by the Village People on his IPod Shuffle.
pspimp @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
Black Yoshi brings up a very good point. I mean, pretty much all characters
Nintendo has created seem gay.
Look at Link, man, that guy is big time queer. Looks just like "Zander"
Mario?
That little fat round pink testicle guy? Whats his name?
Star Fox, COME ON! star fox is clearly g-a-y.
Pretty much every one, except Donky Kong.

and samus unless you call going around shooting aliens manly. what about kirby i don't think it has a gender so it can't be gay. yoshi isn't gay. bowzer deffinetly isn't gay the way he steals peach (who isn't gay either) all the time. wario isn't gay and waluigi isn't gay and liugi isn't i think so i don't know what you're talking about nintendo isn't gay. they aren't bloody and gory but does that make someone gay. do you all actually like blood at all. if you do i think you watched that dracula movie 10 times too many.
seraph @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
um...samus is a girl...and this thread has gone to hell
Fixitdave @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
The Nintendo bashing begins...may as well lock it up now.
Blarrrg @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM

thies @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM

DannyMac @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
Well... this doesn't sound as bad as the Donkey Kong Country promotional video Nintendo sent me back in '93.
jonathan @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
