Its not everyday you see a $150 million lawsuit aimed at the
executives of a bankrupt game producer, but today is one of those days. The trustee assigned the duty of tending
to Acclaim's post-bankruptcy assets has filed charges against the outgoing execs, accusing them of managing the company
"as if it were a personal piggy bank." There aren't a great many piggy banks of which we are aware that hold $100
to $200 million in cash, so these must have been some pretty serious piggies.
Acclaim is in the middle of chapter 7 bankruptcy, the saddest of bankruptcies (in the key of D minor), during which the company comes to a complete halt. Don't know how this one is going to turn out, but GameSpy posted an Acclaim flashback just after Acclaim went kaboom almost one year ago exactly - from Wizards and Warriors to Burnout- for those with a soft spot for nostalgia.
