PSP coming to a TV near you!
PS2NFO.com has reportedly received details
about a PSP-to-TV converter from IC.bz (an online accessories/mod chip reseller). PS2NFO has posted a series of
mock-ups of the device, which looks to feature component AV output with 16:9 support, "turbo" (auto-fire?), and even a
PlayStation controller port. Apparently, the device does not call for any sketchy soldering, but if it doesn't utilize
the USB connection (see picture), will we have to get into the PSP's guts after all? Maybe Sony will be kind enough to
throw us a PS2/3 add-on that will do the trick…
[Thanks, Gio]

Who needs to watch TV on their portables. PORTABLES!!! I suppose no one will mind the coax/RCA cables used to get a signal to this behemoth. And for those who say it could have an antenna, I guess if you need to watch "Friends" reruns that bad, have at it. When was the last time something interesting was broadcast OTA (Besides Family Guy)?

Do you enjoy helping piracy?
For me, it's doubtful. IC.bz is merely a chinese gray
importer. Joystiq just did the advatisement for them.
PSP need to be deeply hacked for this use. At least
bios must be replaced, plus these guys must know how to
use wifi/usb function on PSP. These CAD images are
crappy as well. It'll be broken easily if it is made of
prastic.

Lectiod, you noob, it's to get video from the PSP TO the Television, not the other way around. That means that instead of playing your PSP at home on the 4" screen, you can enjoy it on a 30" Plasma.

I have something that lets me play PSP games on my TV. It's called a PS2. :D

Dom (evilmax17), care to elaborate on how you can play PSP games like Lumines, Mercury, Wipeout Pure, or Twisted Metal: Head-On on your TV using your PS2? If you truly know how, then it sure would be nice for you to share with the rest of the world and explain this hidden ability of the PS2 to play even more great games than we previously thought (and believe me, it's already got a lot of great games). Otherwise, you would look like quite a fool for spouting off some claim that you're not able to back up.

ps2nfo...lol joystiq just lowered itself some ratings to take articles from ps2nfo... LOL... like they are trustworthy... all they want is hits and money... they arent really about the piracy...

This was first reported on maxconsole.net via news from Team Xtender

Nice to see some sites still up to old tricks...

"Dom (evilmax17), care to elaborate on how you can play PSP games like Lumines, Mercury, Wipeout Pure, or Twisted Metal: Head-On on your TV using your PS2?"
Wipeout Pure = Any PS2 Wipeout
Twisted Metal: Head-On = Any PS1 or 2 Twisted Metal
Lumines = Kinda sorta Builder's Block for the PS1
Mercury = any Marble Madness type game (if there is any on PS1 or 2)
Aero @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
Any Wipeout fan knows there was only one game in the series for PS2, and it was nothing like Wipeout Pure.
Jason Anderson @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
I still don't see anywhere for an add-on to connect to the PSP that would allow TV output fast enough. Forget USB, it'd be horrible quality.
I call bull on this.

"That means that instead of playing your PSP at home on the 4" screen, you can enjoy it on a 30" Plasma."
That means you can enjoy a less than half standard definition TV signal upscaled to a high definition signal? Sounds like crap to me!
Eran Hawke @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of.
Why on earth would you want to play a PSP game on your TV when you can buy a PS2 for less?
Lets see: lower resolution, more cables, worse controls, crappier games, no multiplayer. Yep! Sign me up!
*duh*
Anything you can do on a PSP+TV you can do cheaper and better with a regular console.
Vance @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
So wait a minute... the PSP can now become even more like a PS2?
I'll think I'll just trade my PSP in for a few more PS2 games. I'm tired of not having any content.

http://www.teamxtender.com produces this device. PS2NFO did not mention their name as they have had a bad history with Team Xtender as PS2NFO has been ripping off peoples products, news and programs for years!
They are not a good news source; check out http://ps2banz.pxn-os.com for information pertaining to PS2NFO
