Rumor: is the PSP going mini?

PSP mini (425)

Between the Game Boy Micro and today's announcement of the iPod Nano, companies seem to firmly believe that by taking their standard products and adding a word meaning "small" to the end of its name, consumers will buy it. This new item is very likely just a fan-made mock-up image, but it does make for an interesting idea. Making its way through the Internet rumor mill currently is the Sony PSP mini, which features a Nintendo DS-style flip-up screen and a square PSP logo where the screen once was.

Now, whether or not the image is fake (almost certainly is), the product presented is an interesting one, as the PSP is bulky as is. If Sony were to make a PSP mini, would anyone be interested in buying it?

[Thanks, Shizzle]
