Dan, a contributing writer to GameDAILY,
pondered the importance of games as he struggled to piece together an article amidst his despair in the wake of the
Hurricane Katrina tragedy. Indeed, just four years ago, Dan was similarly glued to the television watching another
harrowing event unfold before him. Helpless.
In these moments, we often question our daily routines. For many us, that includes gaming. Are video games really that
important? Dan thinks so. He invites us to imagine all of those displaced children, suffering without homes, families,
or even a decent meal. But what if they could play a game for a few minutes—escape into their imaginations? Doesn't
that make video games important? Dan writes:
