I thought paradise consisted of rivers of milk and honey and 70 virgins ready to be plowed like the fields whenever we see fit...

Guess the rest of us unbelievers will have to settle with the 360 in J. Allard's company. :-(

The idea of a tree with strange fruit in a place made by dieties has me think of two different stories. One is the punishment of Tantalus, condemned to have the fruit of a tree forever out of reach. The other is the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden of Eden. The image I'm getting is either fruit I can never reach, or fruit that condemns me.

Boy, that's a great marketing gimmick.

Uh, I think we're talking about Greek mythology here, not Judaic tradition or Islamic theology... Or even Irish wishful thinking...

I love it. Not the origen page, but the thought process and humor that prevails in the posts about the origens page.

Personally, I am waiting for the matrix/alice in wonderland montage...

I am sure this has already been noticed, but what is with the guy hanging from the tree branch? The real small guy on the left bottom...

If you right click to zoom into what looks like little twigs out of place it looks like a Pinocchio guy hanging there, those twigs are his legs.

I don't understand why some people just eat this crap up. It's really not hard to take a product of any kind and think up of vague clues that kind of hint about the product, but also could really mean anything. Most people whine when one company doesn't give out information, but they find it fascinating when another slowly leaks out cryptic clues that still don’t tell us anything. I guess it appeals to the inner detective in some. Personally it makes me not want to buy their product. Either give us information or don’t. Don’t dance around the information like a…well, like a green rabbit around a bonsai tree.

I find funny that alot of people are drooling and making such a big deal over some little dumb tree with bunnies. There is probably some guy with this thing on his computer 24/7 just to see if it changes. Sad really

I have to give it to the MS folks, this marketing strategy has generated alot of attention. I will admit, I have checked the page too often, but hey, what else are you supposed to do at work?

OMG HOW MYSTICAL!!!!

Why do they do this? I know its to get the xbox fanboys that spend their every waking minute worshipping Micro$oft to get all giddy and excited about some nonsense.

But why do they make it sound so awe-inspiring and important? What "big news" is there left to reveal besides dates and japanese prices? Its just the Microsoft Xbox 360, and thats not saying much, so why do they work it out to be some godly, world-changing experience? Its a bunch of computer nerds and corporate big wigs, not "gods" and divine bullshit.

And for the record, not once have I went to this countdown page, I just don't care.

I'm like 90% sure this is going to be an informational page with locations and dates for a traveling X360 expo just like we've seen before the launch of every other console. (isn't it obvious?) The gamecube pre-release expo was lame, but the second time they came through promoting metroid prime and the new zelda they had hot babes and smirnoff ice ;D

Yer prolly right, Techno.

I don't think it's sad that people go to the page. It's marketing and it gets people talking about something we all really haven't even been able to play, or even get our hands on a real one. So, it's something pretty intangible. It's fun to speculate and I think they'll announce H3 @ the Expo.:) I don't see Sony doing anything to really get the attention. If H3 comes out when they release their system they'll be lucky if they hold ownership in the States for console sales.

The whole site is pretty lame, and not worth the attention. Call me when one of the bunnies finds a way of offing the other bunny or if the fruit starts randomly exploding, or the tree uproots and takes on Saruman's army.
