Rockstar's Bully delayed because of protest?
Not likely. Rockstar has cited the need for more development
time as the reason for Bully's delay, not protests or Jack Thompson rants. The game is now slated for a February
2006 release on the PS2 and Xbox. There has been no mention of a possible next-gen upgrade for Bully, which is
likely too far along in its development for that type of overhaul. The game has been called a "Columbine simulator,"
but early indications suggest that Bully is a boarding school brawler focused on sticking up for oneself
without the use of guns—just good ole' fashioned mano a mano beatdowns.

I hate the f'ing soccer moms of this country I really do.
A Columbine Simulator?!!? WHAT IN THE BLUEST OF BLUE HELL ARE THESE IDIOTS GOING ON ABOUT?!Do they even THINK before they say anything or do they just try to use catchy words and demeaning garbage to try and get people on their side?
I guess we better get rid of Ghost Recon because it's a war simulator and we all know that war is bad.Forza Motorsport has to go too because it encourages speeding and now we're going to have high speed accidents everyday.
I mean, just last week I just thought about the words Mortal Kombat and I roundhouse kicked my teacher in the face and then turned into a dragon and bit his upper body off.
Damn videogames for my irresponsible actions!
Imp @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
I can udnerstand the uproar for this game. Odds are, Rockstar as an entity thought, "Gee, what's a hot button issue right now... SCHOOL VIOLENCE!" And then they proceeded to make a game based on it in such a way that isn't exactly Columbine-ish.
I can fully understand outcry against this game, but that doesn't mean I support censoring it.

Its funny b/c these same lunatics raving about how we should ban these kind of video games are the same republican losers saying Pro life but sending our boys off to be killed in ICrap (Iraq)

John Bennet Ramsee (btw, your name is the sh*t)
I understand exactly where you're coming from. The Republicans are the ones trying to turn this country into a theocracy (a government basically ruled by following religious principals and morals).
The people bitching about this game are the ones saying "pro life no abortions!" but yet use the death penalty with no second thoughts.
Eskimo Bob @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
Yes, damn Joe Lieberman and Hillary Clinton, those Republican losers!
Imp @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
:sigh:
Just because right-wing Christians are Republican does not mean that Republicans are right-wing Christians.
ryan @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
Hey, #5, who is a bigger loser, a right wing person guided by their morals, or some geek who doesn't even know that Hillary Clinton and Joe Lieberman are major Democrats?! (Hillory's frmr. Pres. Clinton's wife and Lieberman ran for V-P in 2000). And #4, why is it that you defend criminals but have no problem condemning babies to death? I don't see your logic.
Eskimo Bob @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
Hey #7, who is a bigger loser, some geek who doesn't even know that Hillary Clinton and Joe Liebermman are major democrats, or some geek who doesn't recognize sarcasm?
I'm not a Republican or a Democrat. I'm okay with the moderates on both sides, but I agree that radical conservatives are obsessed with converting America into a Christian-centered country; however, I also see radical liberals as people with no moral grounds who could drive this country into Hell (figuratively speaking). Hillary Clinton just wants to make herself look like a moderate liberal so she will be appealing in the 2008 election. Our country is so screwed up. =)

Correlation DOES NOT IMPLY causation!!!!!!!!!
Republicans and Christians are not mutually inclusive.
Learn to argue on facts, not emotions.
[sorry to troll but the last few comments made every person on the planet gain +5 IQ points just because the writers of those comments were idiots]
[and 7/Ryan, do you understand sarcasm? He's saying that since people are confusing Christians and Republicans that Hillary Clinton is republican by that definition.]

...nothing is more hilarious than people trying to debate politics over the internet.

Someone needs to send Jack Thompson like 40 of the most offensive hentai games they can get out of Japan. If he thinks the crap in GTA: SA is bad, he would literally melt like the Nazi from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" upon viewing these. At least the sex in GTA is consensual and a reward for having a healthy relationship with your girlfriend...sounds almost normal, no? However, the hentai games he would be seeing would almost certainly involve rape, incest, bloody devirginizations (boy the Japanese love those), almost certain portrayals of sex with underage minors, the whole nine yards. And despite these games, Japan doesn't have a high rape rate. But those games would make Jack Thompson's eyes bleed and forget about GTA.

Honestly if the press hadn't been reporting on this so much, I don't know that I ever would have bought. But since I keep hearing Nancy Grace complaining about it in her stupid little adds, I'm preordering this one fellas!

I read on another site that you don't play the bully, but instead beating up bullies. Not sure how this figures, sounds like an excuse for it to be passed while making lots of publicity. I can't help but feel this will be awful, but will sell based on publicity.
captain_howdy @ Dec 18th 2005 10:00PM
I completely agree with KirbyMeister on his last comment. Anyways, it does seem that the majority of politicians that are complaining about video games for the past 10 years are indeed democrats. I don't know if it's because they want votes or whatever, but either way it's getting on everyones nerves. Just to name a few of the democrats criticizing the entertainment industry are=Tipper Gore in the 1980's and her debate about rock n roll music being too vulgar, Joseph Liebermann in the mid 1990's and his anger towards Mortal Kombat and Doom, and now Hillary Clinton whining about GTA and the upcoming Bully game. And yes, Jack Thompson is a republican attorney who has criticized Bush on not taking the matter seriously, and now Thompson has teamed up with Hillary Clinton to combat Rockstar games . So it works both ways, but even 'til this day i haven't heard George Bush comment on this issue yet. Maybe he can care less or maybe he enjoys the video games. Who knows. I do know that on one of Jack Thompson's articles, he says that when Bush was still Governor, Bush funded Id software , and Jack commented on this saying "George Bush encourages these murder simulators". Which is kind of funny coming from another hard nosed christian such as Thompson.

Am I the only one who thinks that the whole point of the protest is flawed by the fact that the game is likely to carry a rating above the age of school children (for instance an 18 here in the uk)? Aren't the protestors just looking for an excuse to not do their jobs as parents and actually make sure they only play games they're legally allowed?
