Late last week, 1UP.com put up an "unofficial" poll to gauge which
Xbox (1) titles Microsoft should make backwards-compatible right out of the box for the 360. Visit
the site to vote for five of your favorite games "for each of the sets"
listed—it appears that results for sets A and B are tallied separately—and get your voice kinda heard by MS. (That is,
if they pay attention to these sorts of things.) There are "no guarantees" promised, of course, but your votes won't be
tallied if you visit after midnight of Tuesday the 13th (probably Pacific Time… so, before Wednesday then?).
It is nice to see a few critical darlings get some love on the B side of things, though. Psychonauts,
Panzer Dragoon Orta, and Beyond Good and Evil have 5-6% of the B votes each. The big winners (with
over 13,000-14,000 total votes counted so far), however, are the expected best sellers set to be released this fall,
Burnout Revenge and Half-Life 2, sitting pretty with 7% and 11% of Xbox Set A votes, respectively.
(Note that rounded percent values mean that each column's total may not quite add up to 100%.)
Personally, I'm just waiting for the extra support from fans of die-hard franchise. Street Fighter Anniversary
Collection so far only has 3% in Set A, and NFL
2K5 (which will be Sega's last NFL game for a
very long time, if not for good) has the same numbers in Set B. Send those votes in, people!
