So
EA hasn't done such a great job producing impressive
in-game screenshots for its Xbox 360 titles up to this point. But in the interest of fair play, let us point you
to some awesome screens (and a preview with a playable version [no demo—they had some hands-on time; we won't]) of
NBA Live 06 for the 360 in this month's issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (October 2005, pp.
56-57).
While they won't release the latest goods on the 1UP
site just yet, it appears that the screen captures printed in EGM could have been taken from
the "artist's conception" of the game released during this
summer's NBA Draft. We trust that EGM means it when they say the players really do look as lifelike as the
photo-realistic, sweat-drenched b-ball superstars in the huddle pic you see here (which was actually released back in
June, and is quite similar to the feature screenshot in the October issue). But if they're right, we might get a launch
title that actually exceeds our prior expectations, and that would definitely be a good thing.
