New Madden screens on the 360 severely disappoint

Remember that "target render" video EA released for the Xbox 360 version of Madden 2006 during the NFL draft back in April? Well, it looks like that trailer is coming back to bite them somewhere we don't want to mention: an exclusive new gameplay video for Burger King has been frame-capped and placed online for all the world to see, and it's rather disappointing in comparison to the one we've come to know and love.

As you can see above, Exhibit B (the BK clip) simply does not match up to Exhibit A (the draft special), and even a webcomic without light bloom can recognize that. We can hope that EA will pump up the real-time action sequences before the 360 launches, but it's more than likely we won't be seeing those kind of visuals until the end of the next generation (if not the one after that). Xbox 360, why must your games keep looking like Xbox 1.5?? Here's to better launch games and graphics engines.

That only took almost 6 years to get somewhere near the level we were promised.

With Next-Gen Madden we were promised the quality of the Next Gen madden 2006 commercial. Actually, we were promised something BETTER than the commercial.

Just because we MAY get something that looks like the next-gen madden commercial in 6 years does not mean we should let companies get away with lying.

How many people saw the commercial but don't read 1up or Joystiq? They've been duped.

If EA thought it MAY EVENTUALLY have a game that looks that good, then the commercial should have been for Madden 2012.

PS2 launched in 2001

No one should even attempt to open their mouths about the subject of graphics---just look back at the original specs of halo---im sorry to tell everyone this but it takes time to learn new software. And dont think the PS3 is going to be a whole deal greater then xbox360 since some people still dont know if the original xbox is better then the ps2 and they are a year and a half seperated in technology. Oh but ps3 looks so much better you say?---well i have yet to see any actual gameplay footage out of sony yet---go back to gamespot and look under killzone for ps3 and youll notice that the footage you thought was gameplay was actually a cg video of in quote "how its suppossed to look"---there is no telling which system is better or worse and im not taking sides here but come on---you cant base a system on a developer who had to sign the sole rights to just create the game because they didnt want any competition. Wait til the systems themselves have been out for around 3 years and thats when everyone can start complaing about how games look

#62 stop hatin, man people just cant except ps3 graphics are better. microsoft want to make you believe that there is no difference in graphics but there really is.

I'm as excited as the next guy about the prospect of a new, next-gen Madden. And while I admit the screens we're seeing aren't that impressive, none of what we're seeing are officially liscenced shots from EA. Who really knows what stage of development these came from? Hold your opinions until you see something official. Otherwise, you're wasting you're time.
