Sony revealed its full lineup of games in development for the
PlayStation 3 at the Tokyo Game Show today. Not all of the titles currently being worked on were identified by name
(sometimes only the relevant genres were given; for instance, that Namco fighting game sounds like a good time), but we
can be sure that none of the games mentioned have been playable on the show floor up to this point.
According to GameSpot, "Sony currently has 102
games scheduled or already in development for the PS3, with 71 publishers on board its next-gen bandwagon." No
attendees may have gotten any hands-on time with them, but there's certainly a large number of exciting titles on the
list to keep interest in the PS3 running at fever pitch for the foreseeable future.
Among the many titles announced were King of
Fighters: Maximum Impact 3 (from SNK Playmore), as well as new versions of
Alone in the Dark, Driver, Stuntman,
Brothers in Arms, and Gradius
(good thing they didn't call it "Final"). Triple-A
titles such as Resident Evil 5,
Devil May Cry 4,
Metal Gear Solid 4, and new
Gran Turismo and Final Fantasy games
(okay, "Final" works better there) were reconfirmed as well. Of course, fans of more niche series franchises
also got what they wanted with new installments plugged from Atlus (an RPG from the Shin Megami Tensei series)
and Nippon Ichi Software (a possibly strategy-oriented RPG tentatively called
Makai Wars), too. Something for everyone sounds like a good plan.
102 games revealed for the PS3, but none playable at TGS
