I'm surprised so many people actually like it. That's a good thing of course. Of course people with negative opinions are usually more vocal which is unfortunate...except in cases like unnecessary wars or mismanaged natural disasters. *ahem*

I'm excited about REV even more now. The game archive feature alone was enough to sell me to it but this seals my decision.

First reaction - ... What the hell?!
After reading up the official notes - This is actually pretty good.
After thinking deeply for some time - It IS well done.

I'm fucking pumped for this console. God I love you Nintendo. The more I think about what they have hust created the more excited I am. I just want one right now. Nintendo's made a big step and have made something so creative and the end result is my interest in PS3 and Xbox 360 has almost totally disapeared, those consoles look like something that belongs to cavemen. Well done Nintendo. Well done.

Same here #54.
At first:" What in the name of HELL is that?!"
After reading some articles:"That's nice, so it's got some potential"
After watching the speech and the commercial for the Revo:" wow."

I personally love the idea that you hafta swing the sword around for Zelda Revolution, I really hated the control scemes for the old ones.

im neither a fanboy or a hater. im one of the people who think "whats with this choosing consoles? get all of them!"

i really like the Revolution Controller, but i fear it may end up being like the DS. sure the touch screen is great, but there are 6 buttons on the thing that ive never seen used in a ds game. im sure there is at least 1, but i havent seen it. its like the game developers were like "ooh touch screen" and forgot all about the buttons. im afraid the same may happen with the revolution and its gyro controller. i also hope they will come out with the older controller addon packs.

it was all for the rev. but with this controller make me want to reconsider. i like the style of the current controller and the same for the other systems, but this just seems that someone was high one day and saw a tv remote and used that for there idea. i just hope that they have a more current style for people like me.

They DO have. Didn't you read all the news? There is a "current-style" controller in development, with all the pros. of this controller, the "current" ones, and new features. It will be an attachment.

When i first saw the controller on IGN, i thought WTF is this. And then i went on to read the articles about it, and then i thought, This could actually work. just think of all the possibilities u could do with this controller (ex. baseball, tennis, FPS games, racing, RTS games, the list go on!!!, not to mention the library of nintendo games to download)
Nintendo's controller is gonna change the way we play games, which is something that Sony and MS seem a bit to afraid to do.LMAO!

Its all very well trying new things but it looks incredibly awkward.

Theres no way holding a tv remote for hours and a stick in the other hand with nothing to balance with is going to be comfortable. The remote bit is just a square nes style pad with a directional piece like say the gamecube, which was never used. So you will have to have the stick (which is the same as the GC stick) in the other hand. Try sitting with a tv remote and a GC pad with your thumb on the stick, its plain uncomfortable.

Nintendo do not have the money they once had, they now compete against sony and microsoft. They live off past titles and this revolution will no doubt just be what the gamecube was, the n64 with slightly better graphics but the same games. If nintendo really want to make a revolution quit making 2d platformers and mario party games.

I think the real reason the controller is this "tv shopper" style is because the games are just going to be "not" revolutionary at all and be very basic like mario party, super smash bros.

Nintendo is really the fun, multiplayer, cartoony simple console. They dont really need a new console because the games dont need better graphics, cartoon graphics can only get so good.

Recapping, I like the idea of being bold, but it seems like its for the wrong reasons and they have done it half hearted. It looks like they have done the remote first then thought, oh no what about the stick! Bung this thing on here too. It makes no sense how to hold this with a massive stick, they maybe need to make it touch screen.

When you really look at it, its just made a controller into two pieces, which isnt great is it. But for nintendos games perhaps most wont need the 3d stick... just like we dont really need another nintendo because the games dont warrant it on the whole.

I mean they never made a great mario for the gamecube, n64 still the best one. I wish them all the best and they are a great company, but this idea seems like the wrong direction in many ways. best of luck to it though, hopefully a new mario can be awesome
