A new interpretation of the Super Mario Brothers has popped up on the Internet—and it's a weird one. Does anyone have any insight into this bizarre project? Re-imagining this famous duo as muscle-bound super freaks makes us uncomfortable. But for some reason, we can't look away…

I have been working on a mario comic for over 5 years now... i have gotten no where with it... oh well (Im so busy with other art). The style i was going to use has changed over the years, normel mario, Mario RPG, then Paper mario, then i desided on the Super Star Saga style because to me, it was the coolest. I never thought of a "real" style... its just kind of weird. But as i said before i have like nothing done, maybe some day i will actully get it done.

the ice bros or whatever they were called are on there, too, as are link, captain falcon and i think pikachu. it's pretty creepy, tho i think i approve of their rendition of bowser.

Actually the one pic looks like a fighting game select screen. It looks to include these characters:

Ness of Earthbound Fame
Ice Climber
Mario & Luigi (The more obvious)
Pikachu
Balloon Fight guy
Donkey Kong
And to the best of my knowledge...thats Jigglypuff in pink O_O

Other pictures include Captain Falcon, Samus, Link, and some Japanese specific game character with the Domo-kun-ish character on his head.
Very interesting take on the whole universe. Ambiguously Gay Frogmen Duo was hilarious.

Also managed to get Koopa Troopa, Goomba, Blooper, and Beetle Bub(I think thats the name)

It is a very interesting take. I wont say good or bad since thats always up for interpretation. But interesting is something no one can doubt.

Wait, this is a Fist of the north star parody. The words "End of the Century" first keyed me off, but seeing bowser cinched it(I forgot which character Bowser's a dead ringer for, having only a passing familiarity with the series). A quick google images check should show the similarities.

It's reasonably cool. And the really bad Japanese translation makes it funny. It's like the guy who translated Zero Wing (remember, the "All your base" thing?) got really drunk, hit himself on the head with a oar and tried to translate this while playing table tennis. Mario is in need of a new look.

But I don't think this is it.

By the way, that frog suit picture is about the gayest thing I have ever seen in my life. The gayest man in the gayest bar in San Francisco could look at this after having sex with lots of gay men and say, "Man...that is really gay."

The frog thing is really funny and cool, despite the gayness. Besides, remember how the japanese are. I mean, look at bowser, he looks like sephiroth, another Metrosexual videogame heroe. I wouldn't mind playing a mature mario game like this.

This was so very awesome, but I am so glad I'm not the only one worried about that frogman pic.

But no one said anything about that demented Yoshi... dunno if I want my kids playing a game that has a grown man riding -RIDING, if anyone gets the joke- a now very man-like lizard thing with eyes that will eat your soul!
