Tetsuya Nomura, director of Final Fantasy: Advent Children
and the upcoming Kingdom Hearts II, spoke with 1up recently
spoke to him about his upcoming Disney/RPG
hybrid. During the interview, Nomura was asked if he was interesting in making a remake to Final Fantasy VII –
as he was behind the tech demo from E3 that got everyone
excited. Nomura stated, through a translator:
Nomura-san has so many other projects lined up already in the future schedule, so it's almost impossible to think about that and squeeze that in. But if there is a right time, it would be interesting to create.
So, there you have it, if Tetsuya Nomura magically finds time in his busy schedule to remake his epic RPG, he will do it. So, not exactly the words many were hoping for - not only does it upset people who think it is sacrilegous to remake the game, but it also upsets everyone else who wants to see Cloud Strife in PS3 glory, as it may be awhile until we see any progress or announcements to the like.
