Continuing their coverage of the Tokyo Games Show, IGN has posted their first impressions of the sixth version of the arcade racing series; Ridge Racer 6. In a change from being a previously Sony exclusive launch title, Ridge Racer 6 will be debuting on the Xbox 360 at its launch in November.
Unsurprisingly, the title's gameplay has changed about as much as its name over the years (we're talking 14 games with practically the same name here). What's possibly more worrying is that the game doesn't have that great a sense of speed. With games like the Burnout series blowing away players with excessive use of motion blur and cars blasting past the screen, it's a bit of a shame that they couldn't emulate this feeling. After all, aren't arcade racers all about blowing away as many synapses as possible?
