#49 - fyi, those GoW demos were using only 1 core. They plan on using 2 or 3 for this game.

Also, beta demos are never good for determining the quality of the final game. Remember (or not) when Halo: CE was demoed. The prevailing wisdom in the industry is that you take these things with a grain of salt.

Now, you could hold your breath for a year (or more) until the PS3 comes out, or you can wait until early '06 for GoW. Your choice.

I prefer to wait until a game is released before I judge it. You'll have ample opportunity to judge for yourself, since the 360 is coming soon. Just don't bury your head in the sand, or you might miss out!

Some of you guys really want to believe. Each time and every time. It reminds me of those who were defending Brute Force, Fable, Doom 3, Halo 2, etc.

Miracles don't happen.

If they can animate character models with that level of detail, they can release 720p or 1024i gameplay footage in MPEG format for us to see.

Come on, Microsoft, show us the goods!

Obviously, they won't.
They prefer to let expectations run to the sky.

Hey, maybe these pics are not actual gameplay but they are definitevely realtime. For example, in the UnrealEngine 2 you can have more detailed models when you do "matine" sequences and simpler models in-game, actual gameplay. But "matine" is still realtime.

These graphics are really good...but still frames don't show you how they move...the reason MGS4 graphics are better is because they move more realistically and because the environments move more realistically...they just feel more alive than the drab cardboard cut-out worlds and over-normal mapped characters of GoW.

Besides, we've already seen the Unreal 3 engine running on very early PS3 hardware and it looks as good, if not better than it does on XBOX360.

well said #57. everyone in here is BAGGING on mgs4, why? these look good man, i know. but, what is the point of comparing the two. i know for a fact that even ig mgs4 doesnt look as good as it did in the video, it will look close, and the gameplay will be amazing. GoW.....i dont know, they gotta get that frame rate problem on the 360 moving before i even begin considering to get one!

Man this is funny. Well, I'd expect the next-gen system to be able to display something like this or else it isn't next-gen. Sony hasn't shown anything legit enough for me to believe, even MGS4 (I wouldn't play that game just for the graphics. Hideo is a genious at story telling). And the way things are going, it won't be for a year before it is released in the US. Anyhoo, the XBOX360 and the PS3 are basically the same thing. Sony is just using a fancy name (The Cell Processor) to a multicore processor in which they "modified". This is starting to look like Nvidia fans vs. ATI fans. I don't know why Sony wants to go with Dual HDTV outputs and 1080p. Heck my 9600XT can display on two screens. And 1080p is unrealistic except 1% of the market. It's nothing special, just to win the specs war. Oh and must everybody know, the specs are based the "burst" rate the system is capable of and almost never fully utilized. But it's hilarious to see fanboys defending their beloved system and/or manufacturer. And for PS3 fanboys, be prepare to wait another 10 years for the PS4. Ken Katuragi says he expect a 10 year life span, which of course is ridiculous. It just show how confident Sony is with their position in the Video Game Industry, sounds like they want to drive the gaming industry.

Sorry, had to remove your last post, LMAO. It wasn't because your comment was bad or anything, but the one it was written in response to was. (One wouldn't make sense without the other, so I had to take yours off, too). Just thought you'd appreciate the notice.

MthdDirector says:
"Now, you could hold your breath for a year (or more) until the PS3 comes out, or you can wait until early '06 for GoW. Your choice."

...Or you can be a gamer and buy and play GoW and then buy the PS3 and play MGS4 when that comes out.

Cool.
