Stung by racy hidden content contained in Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
game, the Entertainment Software Rating Board has asked game publishers to audit all games released in the last year
and let them know if those games contain any hidden content that was not previously disclosed, according to an email
obtained by GamaSutra.
Could this requested audit result in other already-released titles being re-rated (and perhaps recalled)? Developers who might be in this position have a tough decision to make. They can notify the ESRB and perhaps be forced to issue an expensive product recall, or they can keep it hush and hope that the hidden content is never exposed to the public.
Best keep that whole hot biscuit mod for Nintendogs on the DL until this blows over.
