Costco is offering its own bundle for the Xbox 360 including the
premium edition of the hardware (that comes with a hard drive), Project Gotham Racing 3, another wireless
controller, and a Play & Charge Kit for $479.99 in stores and online. The only catch? You probably need a Costco
membership to order. There's also that pesky $23.98 shipping & handling fee, but it can be tricky to get around
that for ordering game hardware online.
[UPDATE: We've been told that you can still order from Costco without a membership, but that you'll be docked a 5%
surcharge if you do so. You'll save money, regardless, but quite a bit less—around $26 $16 or so
before taxes and shipping. Thanks, montee.... Sold
out… again!]
At any rate, everybody
loves
bundles, but only if you can actually save some money on
the things. With this 360 bundle from Costco, and you may actually get your money?s worth if you wanted those extras
anyway, as the wireless controller, Play & Charge Kit, and game (that is, PGR3)
retail for $50, $20, and $60
$50, respectively, for a total of $130 $120 above the standard $400 price for the console alone, which
is $26 $16 above Costco?s price even with S&H factored in. Not a bad deal, so long as
PGR3 gets here by November. (You can afford another launch game to play in its place, right??) [Thanks for the
pricing correction, swoosh bnd!]
So, who?s got a membership? Or, more importantly, who can you get who?s already a member to buy a bundle on your
behalf? We can?t wait for more and better deals to show up, so let us know if you find anything better (from a
reputable web site/store, of course).
[thanks, laserboyjc]
