Following in the footsteps of
the earlier Super Mario 64 pack-in, Nintendo
is releasing a new, limited-edition
Nintendogs-themed DS bundle for $149.99 on October 24. If you missed
the TRU bundle deal from last month, then this
package might be just the thing to soothe your troubled mind (and loaded wallet).
This bundle will include a teal or pearl(?) pink DS, a bone-shaped screen cleaner, a Nintendogs DS skin, and
the rumored "holiday" edition of Nintendogs,
Best Friends (which lets you start off with any of "the six most popular breeds" from the other three games).
This special edition of Nintendogs and the specially-colored DSes will not be sold apart from one another,
though pink DSes have been given away as promotional prizes here in America, and both those colors have been sold
separately in Japan since March (under different names, of
course).
At any rate, if you haven?t picked up a system already, and would love to play with some of these dogged virtual
pets (not now, but maybe in a month or so), then this is the DS bundle for you. Would
a Metroid Prime: Hunters bundle have made as an
appealing purchase as this one, had it not been delayed to
next year? The world may never know. Could the October release prompt
another Nintendo podcast? Tween girls can only hope.
