Over the last month, Square Enix have been buying up shares of Taito
stock in order to finalize this merger. The result? Almost 350,000 shares bought – about 100,000 more than they had
initially planned. Next Thursday, Taito will officially be property of Square Enix.
The other point made is that Taito and Square Enix will not
combine their respective company names, like Squaresoft
and Enix previously had. Instead, they will each stick with their respective pre-merger names. Sorry, kids, Final
Fantasy XII is not going to be published by Tai-Squenix
or anything to that respect.
