John Romero has started another game studio. The co-founder of both id Software and Ion Storm Inc. has had a long and twisty ride through the game industry. On the one hand he created the game studio responsible for a revolution in the computer gaming world, working on titles such as Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein 3D. On the other, he was responsible for one of the biggest flops the games industry has ever seen; Daikatana.
Anyway, the news is that John is starting up a game studio in "the Bay area" and is apparently "much better off in many ways than I was at Midway". As for what games he's working on, all we know is that, "when news of my new game somehow gets out, I think everyone will be a bit shocked." Gotta love that gratuitous hype there. Looks like John's back to his old tricks.
