Halo goes mobile
IN-FUSIO has reached an agreement with Microsoft to develop
and publish mobile applications based on the Halo franchise. This comes as little surprise, seeing as how
IN-FUSIO already owns the right to create mobile games for numerous Microsoft properties, including Midtown Madness
3, Zoo Tycoon 2, Age of Empires 2, Banjo-Kazooie, SabreWulf, and It's Mr.
Pants.
We can expect the first mobile Halo app to be available by year's end (in North America). The Halo franchise has proven to be quite a force, starting with the domination of Xbox software sales, then a series of well-received books, and now with a feature-film in the works—not to mention, all of that branded junk, er, merchandise. Add mobile gaming to the mix and—for better or for worse—there's no escaping this beast…

the only way that halo would work would be on the DS.
not even the PSP, the PSP has horrible FPS controls.

i'd love for it to hit psp. But microsoft will probably be in the next gen portable market, which i think halo might be old news by then...

It is sad to see what was a good franchise become some pimp's (MS) primetime money whore. It is only a matter of time before we see Halo cereal, lunch boxes, and the halo cartoon.....

I agree with Joe (#4). This is the moment in every franchise's history that I dread--the cash-in. I appreciate that a lot of hard work went into making Halo a good game, and I don't mind Microsoft or Bungie making money off of the franchise. I just think that every tie-in (movie, mobile game, book, etc.) has some potential to mar the franchise. I hope the creators/owners of the Halo brand don't screw up a good thing by chasing every errant dollar sign.
