Atari is now shipping Dragonshard, their much-anticipated RPG/RTS hybrid based in the Dungeons & Dragons realm of Eberron. Developer Liquid Entertainment, whose previous offerings include Lord of the Rings: War of the Ring and the Battle Realms series, is attempting to merge two of the PC's most popular genres by combining a deep strategy experience with elements of role-playing. This is also the PC debut of the relatively new realm of Eberron, which is also the setting of Turbine's forthcoming D&D Online. Forgotten Realms fans needn't fret - Neverwinter Nights 2 is on the horizon.
