Works a treat. I might miss my internet browser somewhat, but I can live with that.

Thank god. Although I just finished up Secret of Mana on my actual SNES, I wouldn't mind doin' Chronotrigger on my PSP. Just until Tuesday when PoPoLoCrois comes out.

Where was this all summer? Heh, figures this finally happens when a slew of games are coming on multiple systems(Burnout Revenge/Legends, PoPoLoCrois/Legend of Heroes/Urban Reign/Fable Lost Chapters to name a few).

Still, thank God(or Miyamoto?)

"Ex-WAB-member Yoshihiro may have been a fraud."
Yoshiro is now a member of MPH, the group that released this downgrader.

Whoa, that's news to me, EdZ. (Where did I read that?) Thanks for the correction, and I'd better update the post.

MPH is actually one person. Yoshihiro is part of Sonyxteam who with MPH have released the downgrader. Read: http://www.sonyxteam.com/

Interesting... this may require a bit of tricky negotiation to figure out what's what. I'll see what I can change in the main post, but thanks for the heads-up, zsasz.

No probs Dan! I suppose it will all be cleared up when MPH makes a statement. Anyway, we've got a downgrader that works!

In case anyone is too lazy to really read into the link, you can downgrade, then upgrade again if you want.

Also, verified goodness over here. Hard to go to sleep now that I'm so excited. Ah well, short of a meteor hitting my house, it'll be here when I wake up, right?

Pardon me for being such a n00b here,

but what benefit do we have by downgrading?

Benefits? Tons. You can play homebrew games, as well as games from other system platforms (i.e. SNES, Genesis, Gameboy, NeoGeo, TurboGrafx, etc.) and not to mention even UMD isos. These are the benefit. Yes, you will lost the 2.0 browser once you downgraded, but you can use alternatives such as Wipeout or Tenchi web broswers.

Maybe I'm a fool, but last week I noticed that the SNES emulator on PSP has many performance issues still. The NES/GBC/et al. seemed to perform well enough, but I couldn't get even the rudimentary games to play smoothly. So perhaps there's still waiting involved before SNES emulation will be practical?

Actually, Dan Choi. I think you were right in the first time.

Yoshihiro is still excused as a fraud. He is not part of the "MPH team."

I don't have a ton of issues with the SNES emu... There's still room for improvement, but basically you just have to tweak the settings yourself to find something to your liking. I'm using the SNES9X TYL and it runs RPGs well enough, as well as Super Street Fighter 2, MegaMan X's, and Gradius 3. Just gotta play with the frame skip on each game individually(don't use auto) and such.

As for the net browsers, i'm pretty sure they are some homebrew ones that are made, you don't even need the wipeout one. The one thing I'm missing is the bmp/gif support, and ability to crop and post backgrounds. Just haven't found a good homebrew listing page yet, cuz I'm sure there's a prog for that.

I have the White SONY PSP that came with 2.0. From what I read in the FAQ, this downgrade shouldn't work since my PSP came with 2.0 not 1.5. So I can't follow the process from the FAQ unless if I'm wrong. Has anyone tried downgrading their White PSP? I'm afraid to do it, I just got it.
